Summary: Shower Favors 2007-05-30
Comment: I was hosting a bridal shower, and I needed a favor for an Asian-type theme. I put the cookies in little sachet bags and placed them back in the box for favors. Everyone LOVED it and it turned out great! Also, the company was prompt in their delivery and also had cold packs, to insure the chocolate wouldn't melt! I would buy them again for sure! (I also used the friendship cookies as well)

Summary: Great for men and women on Valentine's Day! 2007-02-17
Comment: I came to purchase these fortune cookies because I manage a team of 3 gentlemen at work and wanted to get them a little something for Valentine's Day. It wasn't an easy task to find something! I couldn't get them flowers, or little stuffed animals, or a box of candy -- it was all too girlie. Then I saw these. Who doesn't love fortune cookies? And who wouldn't love fortune cookies covered in high quality milk chocolate? And who doesn't recognize the little Chinese 'to go' boxes that you get when you order food in? (The cookies come in that kind of box). It all seemed a little less girlie than all the other stuff out there. Long story short, my group of guys really liked them - as did my two female work friends who I also got them for. It was a huge hit! They are delicious and the fortunes inside have really great messages. There are only six in a box, but the 5 people I got them for seemed to think that 6 was enough.

I highly recommend these and have already decided to purchase a bunch more for Valentine's Day NEXT YEAR!

UPDATE: I ordered 12 boxes of these for my best friend's wedding shower in April of 2007 (everyone got their own box), and all the girls went BONKERS over them. What a great favor for bridal/bachlorette showers!

Summary: If you haven't; tried these, DON"T, they're evil good!!! 2007-02-11
Comment: I love fortune cookies, the whole package, how it feels to open the wrapper, the "snap" sound they make when you break them, the sound of the paper when you pull the fortune out, the crunch when you eat the cookie. I always say a prayer before I read things, asking God to have whatever is printed on the paper be His special words to me for the day.

You're thinking I'm a fundamentalist nut, but, hey, I want to get across how much I really like the things.

I originally noted these Emily's Chocolate Covered versions this year at Walmart early in the Valentine season. They were stupid expensive, but I was hungry for chocolate, had some extravagence funds, so I bought them.

The rest is a sad decent into maddness.

I don't know what it is about them, but they're wonderful. Emily's doesn't use a particularily expensive chocolate, but it's just right with the flavor and texture of the cookie.

An added bonus, the fortunes are nice ( have you noticed lately how fortunes have gotten annoying??)

They are well, well, worth the price.

I have sinnfully been giving them to everyone I know and the judgement is unanomous. Even the DH who is the polar opposite of me with fortune cookies likes them.

I know I'm not unique. I went looking for them in Lincoln, NE the weekend before Valentines and EVERY one of the major retailers who had them earlier were sold-out!!

Find em, try em. I'm going to attempt to make homemade ones this afternoon...
