Comment: You know your yogurt is delicious when it motivates you to sit down and write a glowing review of it. So here I go, with empty yogurt container next to me:
This yogurt is, hands down, the best yogurt I've ever had. I recently tried the Fage Total and was incredibly impressed by it, but it's whole milk yogurt and most anything whole milk is going to taste good. That being said, it was better than any of the other whole milk yogurts I've had before.
So I was even more impressed when I discovered that the Fage 2% tasted identical to the whole milk version. The yogurt is smooth, creamy and mild, and is a special treat with a drizzle of honey on top. If you like yogurt and haven't ever broken out of the standard Dannon cups, prepare to be wowed.

Summary: Have you discovered Heaven? 2006-05-12
Comment: I purchased this product thinking that I was NEVER going to find a plain yogurt that made me go "Hmmm" (or Yum!). I am so glad that this proved me wrong. This is the best yogurt I have ever tasted or made. The fact that it is 2% is amazing...it tastes as wonderful as the full fat Fage. I mix it with Splenda and vanilla extract (or a myriad of other flavors) for a great snack. I also make a killer dill sauce for poached salmon substituting this product for sour cream. It is popular and, when they are out at the store, I buy the Fage Zero and the Fage Total classic (full fat) and mix them together in whatever ratio I feel my weight can handle. My grandchildren love Nana's house because she always has the Fage Total w/honey, cherries, or strawberries. Better than a burger meal any day!

Summary: Delicious! For those of us who don't like the overly sweet yogurt. 2006-01-23
Comment: Let me preface this by writing that I have always hated yogurt, and when I write "hate," I mean "loathe." I know that it's good for me and my pink female bits, not to mention that it's really good for the digestion track, but I just could never get myself to eat it. Fruit, no fruit, whipped, stuff on the bottom, sprinkles, whatever - if the great supermarket universally sold it - I wouldn't gladly reach for it. Too sweet, too syrupy, low-fat, no fat, lots of fat - it hasn't mattered to me since I was a wee child. Dutifully I would remember that I should eat it, and every so often open a container (very rarely). That is until I stumbled across the 'plain' Fage's 2% (and 0%) at a local Manhattan deli and found absolute heaven.
I love both Fage 2% and 0% - and have been so addicted that I haven't yet branched out to the fruit added or other kinds. It's now very normal for me to eat this particular brand yogurt every other day, up to five times a week - alternating between the 2% and 0%. This Greek yogurt does not taste anything like the classic yogurt you can find in the normal grocery aisle, instead it's unsweetened, with a slight tang of sour - almost exactly like a mix of cream cheese and whipped sour cream. Very thick, it doesn't flatten on the spoon like the 'normal' yogurt, instead it stays very thick and fluffy.
Eat straight or amazing as a substitute for sour cream (on baked potatoes, on nachos, on anything...) Fage yogurts contain more healthy punch and no additives. It's almost crazy to be able to read a label these days and understand what's exactly in a product: just 'grade a' skimmed milk/cream and the necessary 'live active yogurt cultures' (which is really why most people should eat yogurt, right?) The 2% has only 35 fat calories in a 7oz container (out of 130 calories, and the 0% has only 80 calories and 0 fat calories). It's a great breakfast or alternative snack for anyone on or off a diet of any kind: low carb, south beach, low calorie etc.
Look for it in your local diversified supermarket or ask them to carry it. It's a bit more expensive (it's $2.00 here per 7oz container in NYC), but that's likely because it's not distributed by a huge multinational company - and is imported from Greece. Yummy!

Comment: Fage Greek Yogurt is a great alternative to regular yogurt. The texture of this strained yogurt is MUCH thicker, and the taste is reminiscent of cream cheese. However, this 7 oz. cup has only 2% fat (4g) and a whopping 17g protein, making it an excellent, nutritious part of a meal or snack. The plain taste of the yogurt might not be sweet enough for some, but it mixes up perfectly with Splenda, fruit, jam, nonfat sweetened yogurt, or even a a bit of nonfat pudding mix for a wonderful treat that tastes just like cheesecake! A great option for the carb-conscious as well (8g carbs, 8g sugar), you can't go wrong with this unique, healthy product.
