Summary: Great fish if you can afford it. 2005-08-24
Comment: I bought this to just SEE if I could get the quality of fish I have found in great restaurants. This is without a doubt the best tasting salmon I have ever had, and I did not do anything special in preparing it.
The best salmon I have found in the grocery store does not touch this. It is noticeably more flavorful than what is available to me locally. Of course I live in MS (thank you internet) so take that into consideration.
I have a friend who regularly fishes for salmon in Alaska. He claims the best (in this order) are King->Coho->Sockeye->other. He sent me some sockeye he caught (I loved it). I can say based on this one experience that the King is significantly better than the sockeye (and anything else I've bought at the grocery store).
Again, this is just one experience, but I was blown away.
