Summary: Good Copany and Good Food 2008-01-02
Comment: This product was excellent. I am somewhat of a food critic and was sceptical when buying this product because it is hard to judge the tastes of others. As a soul-student of Julia Child, and a food TV, cookbook and resteraunt fanatic, I give this product four stars. I have actually only tried the smoked salmon, but it was very good. Where I am it is hard to find the hot smoked salmon like this, and while the appearance is a bit slimy, and it may be a tad bit too salty, those were about my only complaints. The appearance is what can be expected with cured salmon in those foil pouches, but it is still presentable and easy to fix up into a nice snack tray. I will definitly be trying them again, because they were the best I could find at reasonable prices.

Comment: I had high hopes for this gift basket. The description sounded great and my family loves smoked fish. Unfortunately, everything in the basket was of low quality and we threw away most of the items only partially finished.
My advice, pick a different gift basket.

Comment: Nice Vita was very happy with her birthday basket 'o salmon, which arrived way before her birthday. Shipping is really on time, so don't worry about adding an extra week for 'problems'

Comment: We've been using this company now for three years to drop ship gifts to our loved ones and relatives who live far from us. They've always arrived on time. This one is my current favorite, everyone raves about it and you really can't beat the price for what you get. We'll certainly keep giving Alaska Smokehouse baskets in the years ahead.

Summary: Good product, great customer service 2005-06-30
Comment: Anyone who wants to know where good customer service has gone can look to these folks. Originally, there was some confusion between when I placed the order through Amazon, why I paid extra for shipping a product that claimed free shipping, and when Alaska Smokehouse was able to ship the product. In fact, I even wrote a review prior to this one to express my disappointment. However, just one phone call to Alaska Smokehouse cleared things up very quickly. I didn't have to wait on the phone for any time AND I didn't have to go through punching numbers to actually speak to a real live human. How rare is that in today's utterly awful world of customer service? The staff were polite, helpful and responsive. The product itself was very good and I plan to use this company again, not only for the good products and selection, but because I now know they truly cared about their company's reputation and its customers and act on any issues immediately.
