Summary: Just what I needed 2008-02-23
Comment: This extract was exactly what I needed to make Root beer cookies for Christmas and I received the package in time for Christmas baking. The extract smelled and tasted wonderful. The cookies came out great, and all the kids loved the taste. They got a kick out of cookies that tasted just like root beer soda. Thank you.

Summary: Dear Dummy.....ADD SUGAR! 2007-10-25
Comment: Uh, I hate to be unkind...but you have to add SUGAR! EVery recipe for root beer I've ever seen shows adding FIVE TIMES the SUGAR to the extract to make a SYRUP first....THEN you add carbonated water for the soda, or use the syrup as you did as an ice cream condiment, etc. etc. About 30 seconds of research online might have helped you avoid disaster, pal. Next time? Try to THINK. SUGAR, or SPLENDA or SOMETHING sweet. Otherwise, duuuuuuhh...you have...ROOTS! Which can, indeed, be medicinal and bitter.

Summary: MilkShake was a Disastor - AWFUL AWFUL 2005-08-30
Comment: .
Aug 30 2005 - from JWA -
.
I used one (1) tsp. (teaspoon) in 15 ounces of milk and vanilla iceCream - UGGH!
.
It tasted like medicine. NOT pleasant medicine.
.
There are NO instructions on the bottle (2 0z. Oil Soluable Root Beer Flavor - OldHickory Brand).
.
I then tried LOTS of Hershey syrup to salvage the iceCream (no more in frig) - it still tasted BAD.
.
TOO BAD!! I used to LOVE RootBeer flavored MilkShakes made with RootBeer syrup rather than actual RootBeer - MUCH more concentrated flavor. Now A&W no longer stocks the syrup.
