Summary: Delighted to find this online 2007-05-06
Comment: I've been a fan of Swiss Knight fondue for years, but have only been able to find it at home in Vermont, not where I live now. It is so delightful to be able to order this treat anytime! BTW, I agree with the suggestion to heat the fondue before putting in fondue pot--microwave works fine, so does melting in the top half of a double boiler.

Summary: Perfectly good cheese! No grated finger. 2007-04-19
Comment: Yes, you can make your own. Recipies abound. Simply buy an armload of cheese, open a bottle of wine, chop some garlic, pour in your kirsch. . . .what - you're tired of this project already? You say you just wanted some cheese? there's no-one to impress tonight? the state liquor store is closed? you can't find your grater? what the heck is kirsch? You'd rather keep your $27 and not have to drink the rest of that white wine?
OH, then pay $10 and buy this box. Zero to bubbly cheese in 5 minutes. Cut bread. Dip. Still drink the wine because that is totally awesome.

Summary: I HAVE to disagree 2006-12-26
Comment: This product is wondeful for a "In a hurry" fondue. I have used it at several of my own parties only to recieve compliments. It's important to melt it BEFORE you put it in your fondue maker in the microwave on high for about 3 minutes. I think it is very good and if used properly and not just heated over a wimpy flame can be a hit at any party.

Summary: Make your own 2006-02-06
Comment: Yuck! Melting cheese is not that hard, just make your own. There are good recipes everywhere. Try 1/2 pound gruyere, grated, 1/2 pound emmenthaler grated, tossed w/2 tbsp of corn starch. Simmer 1 cup wine, slowly add the grated cheese, stirring in a figure 8, adding more when the last batch is incorperated. Add 2 tbsp Kirsch. Not hard!
And yes, I have tried this specific fondue, it does not taste right.
