Product Description
This dinette set is solid wood finished in "dirty" oak stain- this just describes the deep and rich oak color. It is darker than the golden or honey oak colors. This is a beautiful Mission Style dinette set that is both comfortable and practical. The Avanti is made of solid plantation grown hardwoods - similar in properties to oak. There are no veneers or presswoods.
DIMENSIONS: Table measures 30 x 48 inches. Chairs 35.5 inches high x 18 inches deep x 15 inches wide. This set ships in 3 boxes via Fedex Ground. Some assembly is required - hardware and instructions included.

Summary: Paid too much! 2008-11-02
Comment: I shopped around the internet for a while to find just the right size and color table and chairs to fit my kitchen. This one looked great. It arrived within a week and without a scratch. However, while assembling the chairs I began to question the quality, especially considering the price. The wooden parts were a little unmatched and I had to make some "adjustments". The seat cushions were all padded differently and completely uneven, but I got the set together and looks ok. However (again), the very next day I happen into a Roses department store (kinda like Big Lots) and see the exact same set for...$125! I will do more foot work next time I buy some furniture.

Summary: Remarkable for the price 2008-08-29
Comment: This is one of those products you buy very skeptically. For the price, what exactly am I getting? Am I better off spending the extra 200 or more for something better? Let me tell you...I live in an 1100 sq ft apartment with a decent sized eat in kitchen. It fits perfectly. There is no way you can entertain more than 4 people at the table but I rarely have more than 4 and when I have the nights I entertain for 15 or more, I set up fold up tables. A little tacky, but no one minds when they taste my food :-).
The quality is amazing for such a cheap price. I willl say the wood is very soft and dents and scratches a little easily. But, the finish, the sturdy-ness, the color, the look, and the value are all 100% top notch! Excellent piece of furniture for someone not looking to break the bank. As said above it's dimensions are also unique in the respect that it fits in areas very well.

Comment: I ordered the Avanti 5 Piece Dinette Set from Dinette Direct.
I received the 3 packages for my Dinette set ( within a week ) and opened and put them together (was easy, didn't really even need the nicely detailed instructions).
A week after I had been using my dinette set I had to setup some drapes and was dumb enough to try and use the seat as a ladder. I stood in the middle of the seat with one leg and heard a crack. I quickly got off it and saw it had slightly folded in the middle of the chair.
On 4-4-2008 I called Dinette Direct at 1-877-346-3883 and left a message about my problem and that I wanted to buy just 1 single cushion for the chair.
Since I received no return phone call, I called again on 4-9-2008 and was greeted by Danielle. I explained my situation to her and she said she will call me back shortly to see what they can do. She called back 2 hours later and said she found an extra cushion and will ship it to me FOR FREE!
I was ready to pay for a replacement along with shipping but instead I get it for free.
A++ for there customer service. I will surely use them again in the future and tell others about them.
Many companies have great prices but not many have great customer service (some have none at all).
For those wondering about weight, I had a 370 lb person sit in these seats and nothing happened to it. It withstood the weight fine. Placing all your weight (~200lbs) and standing on your toes on one foot to reach for a mounting (on the drapes) wasn't a smart idea because it places all my weight in a small 2 inch by 2 inch section of the chair.
Lesson learned.

I submitted this review without commenting on the Dinnete set (was just to happy after getting off the phone with them).
I searched many places (Marlo, Jennifer Convertibles, Regency Furniture, etc) for a nice reasonably priced 5 piece Dinette set and found nothing in the $400 range I liked. I then decided to come onto amazon.com and really liked how the Dinette looked in the photos so I did some research on Google about it and found no negative comments about this set.
This product is a GREAT deal. A Table and 4 chairs like these go for $750 minimum at Marlo. The look of the table is beutiful. I have maple floors in my condo and the contrast is really nice. I was also complimented on my Dinette set when I entertained friends this weekend.
The cushion is comfortable and has just enough cushion (not to spongy yet not to tough, vastly better then sitting directly on plain wood chairs). The size of the table is perfect for my Condo as I have limited space. The table looks classy with these 4 chairs (especially classy for the price).
Someone else already mentioned this but DO NOT over tighten the screws. I used a battery operated drill to install the screws in these cushions and the first screw was tightened to hard cause I had the torque set to high. Learn from my mistake and don't do as I do.
I feel this is an overall excellent purchase. I am extremely happy with this Dinette Set.

Comment: Having a small space to work with, I had searched for about 3 years now for a dinette set that would be easy on the eyes as well as functional and good quality for a good price.
I found it.
First let me say that the ensemble arrived in 3 boxes, very well protected, not heavy, and within a week! Cudos to the mailing company.
Next... assembly was actually pretty easy. All necessary tools are included except a screwdriver, which most everyone owns. The pieces fit together snugly.
The craftsmanship is incredible. The finish is a great color that can go well with most medium to dark tones, and some lighter ones.
Everything about this set reeks of quality. It is pure wood... not pressed wood or particle board.
Comparative values are in the $500 to $1000 range depending on where you shop. Buying here from Amazon.. I came out well below and very satisfied.
All in all, this is an incredible value. Make sure the size is what you need/want, as it is a dinette and not a dining room set.
