Product Description
Braun Impressions 2-Slice Toaster - From the Braun Impressions Design Collection comes a 2-slice toaster featuring a high-class exterior design, and some great technological features. The exterior is cool to the touch while in use, and features a long-lasting, corrosion resistant, brushed stainless steel body. Removable Crumb Tray Anti-Jam Safety Auto-Stop 1,000 Watts Amazon.com Review
Long and sleek, this toaster from Braun's Impressions design collection features a cool-touch exterior of brushed stainless steel. The toaster's single 10-by-1-1/2-inch slot holds two slices of regular size bread or one over-sized slice from a broad focaccia or round bakery loaf. For heating up rolls, croissants, and other bulky items such as taco shells, a wire warming rack is included that fits securely on top of the toaster. Intuitive to use, the toaster features all the most important aspects of toasting, such as a variable-setting browning control knob (with seven quick-reference settings), extra-high lift to make it easy to remove small pieces of toast, bright red 'on' light, and defrost, reheat, and stop functions. A small bread-roll icon on the control knob indicates where to set the dial when using the warming rack. For crumb removal a tray slides out the back, and the 40-inch cord wraps neatly underneath for storage. Measuring 8 by 17 by 6-1/2 inches, the toaster wipes clean with a damp sponge and is covered by a one-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri

Summary: broke first day customer support nightmare cheap china junk 2008-10-19
Comment: My wife shopped for her dream toaster with wedding gift money hoping for a high quality long lasting product, and being european herself, chose a great German brand, Braun.
On first inspection, this looked like a great toaster, nice features, good looks, even brushed stainless appearance. Price was not an object since we expected to buy one toaster, like my parents did, that would last 20 years, like my parents toaster (more like 45 years).
End of positive experience. toaster stopped functioning after only several uses. The bottom bracket holding up the toast came off the guide rails and fell to the bottom where it could only be retrieved with some difficulty. And there is where the shock came in, when I removed it and inspected it, it was the cheapest flimsiest piece of aluminium, that had no chance of staying on the guide rails. The attachment was a simple slot joint that used gravity to stay in place! Once it is off it is impossible to reattach to the guide rails. And this piece is key to the functioning of the whole toaster. I can only assume, that since it was produced in a modern china factory that this malfunction was intentionally created by design. There is no other explanation.
My wife called customer support once, twice, three times, four times, five times, over a period of several months. Each time a telephone rep, "regretted the problem", "would send a pre-paid shipping container for return" and if we would wait for 4-6 weeks it would be taken care of.
Each time the same story was given and each time nothing arrived, and each returned call was met with the same response, and each time there was no result.
One can only conclude that Braun customer support has taken on a similarly flimsy attitude: delay the customer, evade the customer.
The Braun name for me is dead.
Nothing made in China will ever enter my home again, that I swear.
PS Since the toaster was a write-off, I decided to see if I could get inside and repair the poorly designed mechanism. Well, there are no screws on the housing, it is riveted together, none of the inner workings can be accessed without prying apart the housing panels. Sorry folks, its going to the land fill.

Summary: I LOVE THIS TOASTER 2008-10-09
Comment: I researched toasters for months before finding this god-sent! It's awesome! I must have returned 4 toasters before it-- my work mates mocked me... but it was well worth the effort and the time! This toaster is nice to see sitting on the counter, takes up little space, and makes great toast!!! Never burnt or under cooked once! It's wide enough for bagels and long enough for sour dough bread. It's crumb catcher tray does exactly that with OUT spilling crumbs all over your counter every time you move it. I can't say enough about this toaster... I obviously highly recommend it to all! You won't be sorry!!

Summary: The best! 2008-04-14
Comment: This machine does everything perfect. It looks great and works fantastic. I've bought expensive toasters for the last two years, and I threw them away for poor performance. This is the first one that really works. A quality item.

Summary: Pretty good toaster 2008-04-08
Comment: This toaster is beautiful and does produce good toast and bagels. Wouldn't say that it is better or worse than other toasters, but we do appreciate the lift factor. Haven't used the frozen bread or warming feature as yet. I did toast the frozen hash brown potato patties in it and was surprised at the good results.
