Summary: Don't buy this - blender & warranty are worthless 2008-06-04
Comment: I purchased the Braun 5 speed blender online, used it several times a week for a 4 months, and then it just died. When I called Braun, the customer service rep took all my details (name, blender serial #, etc.), then asked what I had last blended. I replied 'fruit smoothie' and was told that my warranty was therefore no longer valid since the blender shouldn't be used to crush frozen fruit or ice. The customer service rep then gave me the address of an appliance repair outlet almost an 1 hour drive away and told me to take it there to get it repaired. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM BRAUN AGAIN.
Compare this to my experience with Hamilton Beach. When my electric kettle died within the warranty period, I called them and they promptly mailed me a prepaid shipping label. I sent the kettle via UPS and had my new replacement less than 2 weeks later at no cost.
