One of Braun's most powerful steam irons, this FreeStyle model not only gets clothing wrinkle-free--it also preconditions fabric, so ironing is quicker and easier. With 71 steam vents in its ultrahard and easy-gliding Eloxal soleplate, the 1,500-watt iron shoots steam both forward and laterally to prep fabric. Adjustable in the horizontal or vertical position, the variable steam dial ranges from 0 to 30 grams/minute and can be used to pause or interrupt steam instantly. The iron's heavy-duty Power Shot feature targets stubborn creases with 85 grams of steam per minute. You can also use this model to spray iron or dry iron. A lightweight, user-friendly structure, the iron's open-handle design with soft, nonslip texturing allows for a comfortable fit in any hand. A dial controls temperature settings, and a built-in anti-calcification system helps cut down on mineral buildup. For safety, the iron includes a 3-way automatic shutoff--after 25 seconds if left on its soleplate or side and after 12-1/2 minutes if left on its heel. The translucent 10-ounce water tank has a clearly marked "max" line and is easy to refill, thanks to the included beaker.
