Product Description
One of the key features of drinking freshly squeezed juice is taste. Nutrition comes a really close second. Fresh juice retains the natural biofavonoids and phytonutrients that are present in the fruit and those fade quickly. Designed for home use, the Breville 800CPXL Die Cast Citrus Juicer has a commercial-grade quality to assure the most efficient extraction of the natural properties from citrus fruits. Be it orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime, citron, and tangerine, you can expect delicious flavor and wholesomeness. The Citrus Press' body, active-arm and housing are cast from the highest grade aluminum and zinc for a thicker and more refined finish designed for long-lassting durability. Unique Quadra-Fin juicing cone technology effortlessly and efficiently juices any citrus fruit, from the smallest lime to the largest grapefruit, without the need to change cones. Revolutionary active-arm system with soft grip handle has built-in sensors to monitor the arm position and safely activate the spinning cones as it comes in contact with the fruit. The spherical fruit dome centers the fruit perfectly on the spinning cone. The stainless steel juice spout can be flipped upward after juicing to halt the flow of juice and prevent any unwanted dripping or mess. The built-in rubber seal locks shut or releases juice at the push of a finger. Choose among two types of filters to adjust pulp content to your exact taste. Exclusive Breville Assist Plug has been designed with a built-in finger hole for safe and effortless removal from the 110V AC outlet. So stop opting for that refrigerated juice at the market. Tropicana and Minute Maid are pasteurized (that sort of means cooked) and, though pure, have lost quite a bit of their natural properties in the process. If you're seeking the best of taste and the finest nutritive values, go for fresh-squeezed. Do it yourself with the appreciable 800CPXL from Breville. Easy clean de

Summary: Motor do not funtion at all: Breville Citrus Press 800CPXL 2008-09-21
Comment: It is a big dissolution this acquisition. I bought recently, in September of this year, in Amazon.com the Breville 800CPXL Die-Cast Stainless-Steel Motorized Citrus Press. Receiving this article (not cheap, I paid US$ 169.99) I tried to connect it, but the citrus press doesn't work. The motor do not start at all.
Phoning and writing to Breville, I finely received a month later an answer of them, telling me (without any apology) to look for a friend or family member in the USA (I live in Central America and don't know any one in the USA) and to send the citrus press back on my own costs (nearly US$ 60. =) to one of them and ask the friend to connect Breville, cause Breville only assumes transport costs inside the USA.
I wonder if this is the correct treatment of an enterprise like Breville which pretend to be the producer of first class articles with first class service: first sending a totally damaged article and than to ask the client to pay transport back to the USA.
It is difficult to find a solution, because finely it is the client who pays the price (rather high) for the damage caused by the producer of this product.
I hope that Amazon.com learns its lesson, to sell products that are damaged.

Summary: 4,5 star citrus presser 2008-08-29
Comment: I was about to rate it 5 stars, but a few minor details could be improved:
There should be a way to keep the handle in the low position to store the machine under cabinets (it is a little bit to high).
The "coarse" grid does not let pulp go through
Big grapefruits can't be squeezed completely
But very easy to clean, very efficient, silent, beautiful.
Heavy, though...

Summary: when it works, it's great 2008-06-18
Comment: Just received my juicer today. After juicing about 20 lemons, nothing. Let it sit for about half hour, then worked again. Juiced another 15 lemons, then nothing again. I don't think they should call this "industrial strength". It appears the motor can handle only so much, then has to rest for a while. Think twice if you juice more than a few pieces of fruit at a time...
follow up: continues to do the same bizarre stopping and starting after 2 weeks - sent it back. i have a $10.00 toastmaster brand juicer that is easily as efficient (though not as pretty) and certainly more reliable.

Summary: Would Get More Stars If It Wasn't DOA 2008-06-14
Comment: It looks great. But mine is dead out of the box. This is the first sign that quality control on an otherwise well made product is not good. I would not expect a $170 juicer to not even work out of the box. I read the instructions several times, because I thought for sure it was my fault, but everything is assembled properly but the motor doesn't even spin.
I'll return it and try another. But be prepared if you order this online, having to do a return for one could be pain. Very disappointing. Hopefully I can report better results with another one. I was going to order their multi-speed juicer as well, but I think I'll make sure one of these works long term first.
Update - After a week the replacement one arrived. Yeah. It only worked for 3 seconds, motor stopped, and now NOTHING again. I called Breville, and they were not very helpful. The best they could offer was to ship it to them. I think a bad batch of these has gone out and they have poor quality control. I'm afraid to buy another one or any of their products at this point. For this amount of money, the product should be MUCH more durable. Very disappointing.
