Summary: Looks Great... Performs Terribly 2006-11-30
Comment: I've had this rice cooker for 4 months. I bought it to replace a 9 year old panasonic rice cooker. I have to admit one of the things that really attracted me to this rice cooker is the way it looks. It matched my kitchen decor and fit my budget (paid under $50). This was a VERY BAD IDEA. While the rice cooker looks great on my kitchen counter top, it makes HORRIBLE RICE. I grew up making rice and eating it just about everyday. So it's not like I'm a novice at making rice. I've had it boil over and make a huge mess on my counter several times. No matter how much water I put in the rice never comes out soft and tender, it always tastes a little under cooked, (never tender and fluffy). And if you try to leave it in longer, even on the keep warm mode, the rice always gets crusty on the bottom, (no matter how much or how little rice you cook). I've experimented with many different amounts of water/ rice, all with the same mediocre results. I would not recommend this machine unless you don't plan on cooking rice and just want something to display on your kitchen counter top. After 4 months of trial, I will be returning this to the store and exchanging it for a more expensive Sanyo ECJ model (based on the reviews that I've read).
