Summary: Nice little sewing machine for the price 2006-11-03
Comment: I bought this machine because I liked the look, and the price was right. It is a solid little sewing machine that works great and is also lightweight to carry around. I find the positions and adjustments for width and length and needle position counter-intuitive, and I have to check the manual to get them right (might just take getting used to.) Also I sometimes have to re-thread the bobbin to get it working smoothly. I love the big platform, and I am happy with all the stitches it does. A good value.

Summary: Best little Machine That Could 2006-04-05
Comment: I love this machine. Brother has made a solid, well built machine. It is mostly plastic on the body, but feels well built and sturdy. It is heavy feeling and doesnt feel cheap at all.
Threading it to start with was super simple but the automatic needle threader took some getting used to because I'd never seen one before. Now, that I have gotten use to it though, I can thread the sewing machine, start to finish in 10-15 seconds. Amazing.
I really love the drop in bobbin. It has a little plastic window so you can see the bobbin, use the plastic bobbins as well and you can keep an eye on your bobbin thead levels easily. Using metal bobbins blocks the view of the thread, but that is no fault of the machines.
Plenty of stitch options are included. Numerous bits and pieces are included but I have yet to need them. I use the extension Table extensively as I am a quilter and it comes loose pretty easily, unfortanately.
But all in all, that is my only real complaint. It runs quietly and pretty damn fast for my taste.
