From Calphalon's Traditional line of cutlery, this carving fork serves two essential purposes: to hold foods steady as you slice them and to keep hands a safe distance from the slicing knife. Calphalon's is designed with extra-long, heavy-duty tines and full-tang construction to help you keep even the largest roasts firm against your cutting board as you carve. That's the key to taking perfect, even slices every time! Some people carve by holding the fork securely against the roast; others are more comfortable actually piercing the roast with the tines. Either way, this extra-rigid fork gives you all the leverage you need. Remember to allow roasts to rest before carving -particularly if you use the piercing method - to preserve your roast's natural juiciness. Fully forged from a single piece of German high-carbon stainless steel, this 6-inch fork has slender prongs that spread outward and sharp points for firmly grasping a roast, chicken, or turkey so it can be carved, for picking up and serving slices, and for turning over meat in the kitchen or on an outdoor grill. For balance and strength, a full tang runs through the handle, which is formed of hygienic, fiberglass-reinforced poly that won't crack, split, or chip and is attached to the tang with the traditional three rivets. Because the fork is stainless steel it won't rust, stain, or discolor. Summary: Carving fork 2008-08-09
Comment: Excellent fork....it is very heavy and matches the good Henckels set (not their nasty Chinese-made version set) of knives I have wonderfully, in looks and quality. I took a chance and bought this fork based on other reviews and am glad I did. For it's cost, it is more than worth it's value.

Comment: Like many of the other reviewers for this product, I'm a knife FANATIC. Unless it costs more than my first car, I probably won't consider buying it (ok not really, but you get my point). I was shopping at a discount store one day when I came across this item. It was around $10-$15, and I couldn't believe it. The quality was so above the price, and the quality looked and felt very similar to my Wüsthof or Henckel knives.
You really need to see this thing in person, and feel how nice it really is. I probably would have never bought this online, without seeing it first. But that's why I'm leaving this review - to tell you that it truly is the best thing you will get for this price range...and come on! Who needs an expensive carving fork anyway?!

Comment: The Calphalon Traditional 6-Inch Carving Fork is an excellent product. The value is outstanding since this fork will obviously last a lifetime. It is extremely well made and matches the much more expensive German made products of a similar type. I highly recommend this item for those looking to purchase a quality carving fork at a budget price.

Comment: So this is a good quality, basic fork. It won't fit in your knife block though since they made the tang a little too thick at the base. It functions but you'll have to drawer it instead of showing it off on the countertop with the rest of your collection.

Comment: We have needed a meat fork for ages, but we were always put off by the cost, upwards of $150. When this fork was offered, we said this is it. What a deal for great quality.
