Comment: I just bought this coffee maker and couldn't be happier. GREAT quality, best brewed coffee EVER, and looks fantastic in my kitchen. Yes, you must read the directions, but once you get it your off and flying into java bliss!

Comment: Don't waste your hard earned money on this particular coffee maker. I have had mine less than one year and I am here shopping for another because the ST600 just stopped working. I echo all the reviews regarding the poor quality of this machine. It is constantly drippy, the lid randomly pops open, and because of all the water, the pot will move away from the main brewer. It is hard to know how much water is in the machine and it is grossly oversized. I have had other capresso's and will be returning to the other model I have purchased before.

Comment: I have read the negative reviews, but went ahead and purchased one of these on e-bay new for 55$. Best money I ever spent. Yes, I had a drip problem the 1st time, but its because I DIDNT READ THE DIRECTIONS, and tried to pull the pot back before the red brewing light went out. I suspect some of the other posters did the same thing.
This is one of the few coffee makers to brew at the ideal brewing temperature, and all the others will be over $150.00. Well worth it for the money.

Summary: Worst coffee maker possible!! 2008-09-24
Comment: I was excited to receive this coffee maker after reading all the positive reviews. I immediately unpacked it, and started to make a pot of coffee. The way this unit is designed, the thermal carafe must be pushed against the main unit to push in a button on the bottom. The force of the button kept pushing the carafe away from the unit, thus stopping the brewing. I dont know how anyone can possibly brew coffee with this unit...maybe mine was defective....sent it back day after receiving. Very cumbersome and ugly unit, also. DONT BUY!

Comment: After reading the mixed reviews on this item, I took a chance and ordered it. The risk paid off! I am very pleased with this coffee maker and the coffee that it makes.
I can see how the pot might slide away from the machine, as some have mentioned. However, I have never had this problem. Nor have I had the top pop up unexpectedly. It does seem that the filter holder has to be put in "just right", or else the top will not close. Could this be the origin of the problems some have had in this regard?
My only complaint would be that the thermal pot does not keep the coffee at a drinkably hot temperature for four hours, as some reviewers have experienced. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, though.... After the coffee's been two hours in the thermos, it needs to be "nuked" a little to heat it up a bit.
All in all, this machine makes a great pot of coffee. I really appreciate the special brew cycle for making from 4-6 cups. I am glad I took a chance and purchased this coffee maker. It is a great deal!
