Crafted by Corelle for their Livingware line, the tableware set endures the tests of time while striking a nostalgic note with its classic red-and-white pattern. With service for four, each setting includes a 10-1/4-inch dinner plate, a 6-3/4-inch bread-and-butter plate, an 18-ounce soup bowl, and an 11-ounce stoneware mug. To construct Livingware tableware, Corelle thermally compresses three layers of glass, producing a vitrelle glass composition that is lighter than other dishware, but more durable than conventional glass. The tableware resists cracks and chips with great success, while the lamination compression process combats stains, scratches, and fading. The user-friendly plates and bowls are dishwasher- and microwave- safe and warm food in conventional ovens up to 350 degrees F. The mugs, however, find safe use in the microwave only. For the best care, avoid soaking stoneware mugs for prolonged periods of time. Corelle discourages the use of abrasives or scouring on these pieces. Comment: I love Corelle it's thin and durable and space saving. I bought this set because I love red. and WOW it's made in the USA. I was however very disappointed with the mugs that came with the set, The mugs are stoneware and worse made in China. If you like Corelle I suggest you buy all you want now before this company also moves to China.

Comment: I grew up on Corelle and everyone in my family has always used Corelle. This was the only place I could find this pattern and at an AWESOME price!! I will always love the lightweight and amazing durability of Corelle. They are an American Staple!!

Comment: Amazon must be listenting to customer reviews about broken Corelle--I purchased the 4-pc place setting set, plus 4 salad plates from a different seller--all arrived in perfect condition, sooner than promised and packed like Ft. Knox.
To those who feel the "salad" plates in the 4-pc. setting are too small, note that these are really bread-and-butter plates. If I could change one thing about Corelle Livingware, I'd substitute salad plates for the smaller b-and-b's in the 4-pc. sets; I actually serve most casual family meals on the salad plates.
These are perfect everyday dishes--attractive, lightweight, durable--and they take just 1/2 the space of my old chipped stoneware in the small cupboards in my '60's rancher. They don't craze or stain like stoneware (most of which is imported from China), and I'll never buy anything else.

Comment: The dishes look exactly like the picture and the product description was acurate. The dishes are light weight, dishwasher safe, and the color patern is beautiful.
Amazon has a great selection of corell dishes, though I admit, the dishes themselves is not the main focus of this review. I wanted anyone thinking of ordering dishes from Amazon to feel confident in ordering dishes over the internet and recieving them in the mail. My first set of dishes did turn out to be broken, however, I blame the delivery service not Amazon, but in any event Amazon corrected the problem faster than I expected them to. I filled out a SIMPLE form on line and was able to print out a packing lable to send the package back to Amazon through my local post office. The best part is that Amazon sent out my replacement dishes, on over-night service non-the-less for free before I even had a chance to make it to the post office. Extrodinary service!!
