Product Description
NOVICA, in association with National Geographic, offers thousands of limited edition and one-of-a-kind gifts, jewelry, and home decor treasures handmade by master artists and artisans throughout the world. Dressed in white wearing ample skirts and turbans, a group of Bahianas prepare a florid feast. Lilian Sampaio creates the colorful placemats as she replicates the work of Brazilian artist Ermelinda de Almeida, a self-taught artist who masterfully transferred her textile artistry to the canvas. Her work is permanently exhibited at Rio de Janeiro's Museum of Naif Art. Sampaio reproduces her work on cork placemats. "Eventually I developed a collage
