Product Description
Whipped into its sleekest shape ever with a black chrome-colored base, this striking and powerful 7-speed blender is the best choice when it comes to drinks, soups, sauces and dips. The 350-watt motor spins razor sharp blades that handle virtually any food, even ice. A pulse option allows you to control the consistency of your final product. Simply fill the 5-cup glass container with your favorite ingredients and blend with the push of a button. Three-year limited warranty. Amazon.com Review
With a 350-watt motor to easily crush ice and touch-pad controls offering seven speeds, including pulse, this blender not only creates frosty cocktails, smoothies, ice-cream shakes, and other drinks, but also mixes smooth soups and sauces, chops bread crumbs and nuts, grinds hard cheeses, emulsifies salad dressings, and produces party dips. (Recipes included.) The 5-cup glass container and the heavy base (made of plastic but resembling brushed chrome) spell durability and look great on bar or counter. Fully assembled, the blender stands 15 inches high, and its oblong base measures 8-1/4 inches deep. The glass container, plastic lid with its 2-ounce measuring insert, and stainless-steel blade are dishwasher-safe. The blender carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Summary: Great item, and great price 2008-09-03
Comment: I was looking for a replacement part for a similar older Cuisinart bleender and found that on Amazon I could get a brand new unit for the same cost as the replacement part I was searching for. Thanks Amazon for the great item and pricing.

Summary: Cuisinart Blender 2008-08-29
Comment: I love this blender. Does every mixing job well. However, I made the mistake of putting some of the plastic parts in the dishwasher and warped them. Had to purchase replacement parts. Don't repeat my mistake.

Summary: Absolutely worthless- a shame to the Cuisinart name. 2008-07-22
Comment: I received this as a wedding gift from a good friend, who purchased this off our wedding registry. I admit, I should have done more research on this particular blender before adding it to our registry, but we were in need of a blender, and since I have grown up with CuisinArt food processors, and own one of their food processors myself (which has worked great for almost 2 years), I had very high hopes for the blender...and yes, I was perhaps caught up a little in the misnomer that more expensive is automatically better, and my poor friend unfortunately purchased it at the full $110 retail price! Wow, did I make a mistake here! From day one, the blender gave us problems. Where to start? The buttons vibrate. Liquid on top just dosen't even move to the bottom. Crushing ice? Hah! I've seen ice crushed more coming out of the icemaker in our freezer when it lands in the ice bucket! The motor overheats very easily (like when I make one smoothie with lots of ice.) I had a Sunbeam blender with a plastic jar that I purchased for $20 from the Dollar Store when I was in college that had more horsepower than this. Stay away from this Cuisinart Blender at all costs...don't be fooled by the shiny package or the well-known name.

Summary: Blender great; Processor not so great 2008-07-21
Comment: I love the blender portion. It works great at crushing ice and other items. The food processor is another story. Works to chop up and blend items, but the motor noise alone has forced me to stop using it. With each use, the noise is louder and so irritating. I am extremely disappointed that I can't use the processor portion of it. As much as I love the blender, I can't recommend the purchase because you won't be able to use the processor without ear plugs.

Summary: Not good for smoothies 2008-06-03
Comment: I am a huge smoothie addict. Love making them in the morning for breakfast and after a workout. So I was excited when I received this blender as a Christmas present. It looks beautiful and is from a great brand name. But I could hardly be more disappointed. The blender simply does not completely blend the frozen fruit I use to make my smoothies. No matter how much liquid I add, how long I run the blender, or what speed I run it at, there are always chunks of un-blended fruit waiting for me to bite. It doesn't work nearly as well as the cheap Oster blender I bought years ago at Walgreens (which finally burned out).
