Summary: Nice, but with problems 2008-01-14
Comment: The table & matching chairs are nice & made of solid wood, BUT, there were problems. Upon receiving the table and 4 matching chairs, the table was damaged in shipping because the insulating foam protecting the edges was only sporadically, and did not cover the edges entirely, so something dented the box in a spot where there was no foam. The chairs were also chipped- looked like poor quality control in packing. So, we called customer service, and we were told we had to pay for another set in order to have a replacement shipped, and when the damaged pieces would be sent back, then we would be credited for the extra set.... so we had to charge twice what we intended to spend. FedEx picked up the damaged table, but there was only one call tag, so the box with damaged chairs is still in my living room. I had boxes in my living room for 3 weeks now. We called the seller asking for shipping charges refund, and we were on hold for 30 min., waiting for manager, who never picked up, so we hung up. Poor customer service!! We also noticed that the black paint is rubbed off from place to place.. I guess I can buy some black paint and touch it up, but we should not need to do this on new furniture.
