Amazon.com Product Description
[Note: This item has been refurbished by the original manufacturer. Please see Product Features for more details.] Tackle soiled carpets and dusty hardwood floors with equal efficiency with this upright vacuum from the United Kingdom- based Dyson. The All Floors vacuum lives up to its name, catering to stairs, delicate rugs, linoleum, and shag carpeting. From Dyson's innovative The Ball line, the vacuum actually rolls on a ball, twisting and turning 360 degrees. Dyson mounted the 10-amp motor within the ball for a low center of gravity and installed a pivoting 13-inch cleaner head to further enhance the vacuum's superior mobility. Crafted in ABS and polycarbonate materials, the vacuum fits under coffee tables and beds with a low profile head. The motorized brush bar benefits from a direct drive to aggressively dislodge embedded debris. For hard floors or delicate carpets, prevent scratching with the push-button brush bar shutdown. The vacuum's Root-8 Cyclone technology powerfully sucks dirt through the spacious debris channel, depositing it in the transparent .71-gallon dustbin. The bin empties at the push of a button, requiring virtually no physical contact with its contents. The permanent, washable HEPA air filter ensures that collected allergens stay contained inside the vacuum while the vacuum releases air with 150 times less bacteria and mold. A built-in telescopic hose system allows the user to tend to stairs and curtains. Provided airflow nozzles assist in retrieving dust from crevices. The vacuum's power cord spans 37 feet, with a 51-foot maximum vacuum reach. A 90-day manufacturer's warranty covers this item. Made in Malaysia, the vacuum measures 13-2/3 by 11-2/5 by 44-1/10 inches and weighs approximately 20 pounds.

Summary: Great...the first time 2008-06-23
Comment: I bought this vaccum knowing that it probably wouldn't work as well, considering it was reconditioned. When I received it, the vaccum worked, however the carpet brush didnt. I took the vaccum apart, cleared the airway and voila! It worked. Yesterday I used it a second time, and the brush is broken again. No amount of clearing will make it turn on. Looking in to sending it back....

Summary: Rarely Give Reviews But This Vacuum Is Worth It... 2008-06-20
Comment: I buy from amazon a ton, rarely ever leave reviews, even though i am happy with the items i buy I just never leave a review i guess, this time i figured i would take the time to just write a short one.
I ordered this vacuum two days ago, received it today, and i must say i am amazed at what this vacuum pulled out of my only two carpets(couple of orientals) and 3 couches. I did the first oriental which is a 8'x11' and the amount of hair and debri it picked up was amazing, i mean the bin of the dyson was half full and i did not even notice any of this stuff on the carpet prior to vacuuming it! I also did my couches with the attachments given(3 in total) and it worked great for that, i would say comfortably without any extra "yanking' or "pulling" on the hose it seems 7-10' is with ease, i know it can do 17' total but if your doing detail work your going to be pulling and fighting with it at that distance as i noticed it starting to fight me around 8-10'. Speaking of the hose, i will say my first impression is that it could rip very easily, hopefully they dont charge much for a replacement, either way ebay would probably be half price for a new hose, but they do seem kind of fragile (once you get it you will know why it needs to be able to take a beating)
Anyway, i have only a couple orientals as i said, the rest of my house is hardwood floors and i did most of the house already and it did work very nicely, did not scratch the floor at all.

Summary: I love my new Dyson DC15! 2008-06-15
Comment: I just used my Dyson DC15 vacuum for the first time, and I love it. I've owned a Kirby, Eureka, Filter Queen, Princess, Panasonic and Hoover, and none of them were a) as easy to use, with easily accessible tools and wand that don't require a lot of unhooking of attachments and adjustments, (b) able to take the amounts of dirt and hair out of the rugs and off the hard floor and furniture that the Dyson did, (c) able to virtually pull themselves across the floor making it so much easier for me to manipulate the machine, (d) equipped with a cord long enough that I can reach every corner of a 1,000 sq ft house w/o moving the plug, and (d) as easy to empty. In fact, I enjoyed emptying the dust cup. I had been looking for a vacuum that could keep up with two inside dogs and an inside cat, not to mention me, and I've found it. Also, the price for the remanufactured Dyson was right!

Summary: An impressive vacuum, but it's just a vacuum! 2008-06-11
Comment: After researching a TON of different vacuums, we decided to give the Dyson DC15 a try, mostly because of the positive reviews and the "All Floors" and "Ball" features. Being the thrifty yankees that we are, we went the factory-reconditioned route, because paying $600 for a vacuum is - quite frankly - absurd (or so we feel). Dyson's factory-reconditioned vacuums have a very solid reputation, too.
Amazon's Super Saver shipping was once again amazing, delivering this vacuum WAY ahead of the scheduled date. The box arrived in mint condition, and after giving it a once-over, it was clear that the vacuum was also in perfect condition.
Beyond the fact that it just looks cool, this vacuum seems to be very well constructed and intuitively designed. It comes with 3 on-board simple/basic attachments that you can use with the very well designed hose and wand (which extends much further than any other upright vacuum that we've ever used). We also purchased the mini turbo tool online for about $35 (eBay), which we would definitely recommend if you have pets.
Suction-wise, the vacuum has a lot of power (it does suck!), but it's nothing earth-shattering like some of these reviews will have you believe. The first run through our house, it pulled up a LOT of cat hair, but the carpets did not appear on the surface to be any cleaner than they were before (again, like some of these reviews would have you believe).
Emptying the container is an absolute breeze, as is pretty much the case with all aspects of using this vacuum. We thought that the ball might make it a little more maneuverable - almost to a fault - but it's not a hugely noticeable difference from most other vacuums that we've used.
Where this vacuum really shines is in its "All Floors" design, which works exactly like an all floors vacuum should. With the simple push of one conveniently-placed button, the beater bar turns off and you've instantly switched from carpet mode to bare-floor mode (which works very well). This is one of the main reasons that we purchased this vacuum, and we are VERY pleased with the results.
One of the main complaints that we read about is the considerable weight. As far as we're concerned, this is not an issue, as it weighs less than the Dirt Devil that it replaced. It's actually smaller than we thought it would be, and while it is loud (it's a vacuum!), it is significantly quieter than most other vacuums that we've used.
All in all, we've used Rainbow, Kirby, Dirt Devil, Hoover, Electrolux, Oreck, and central vacuums, and this one is right up there with the best of the best. Hopefully, it will last us long enough to warrant paying more than we otherwise would have for a more run-of-the-mill vacuum. As long as you don't get too wrapped up the Dyson hype, you won't be disappointed. It works very well, but it's nothing earth shattering.

Summary: This vacuum really sucks! (In a good way :-) 2008-06-08
Comment: Wow! We recently got two cats and this was a lifesaver. It was disgusting to see the first night we used it how much came out of our carpet. Yuck! Thank goodness we got it or we would still be living in a bunch of dirt we didn't know was there and cat hair. I thought it was a little much to spend on a vacuum but it is great! Both of us vacuum now!
