Summary: wheel fell off. less suction now. bad investment. 2008-08-15
Comment: I was impressed when I first bought it. Maybe because I was just happy to get rid of my old dirty one and excited to have a new futuristic see-through one! But month by month, it lost its lustre and I was confused as to why it took several passes to pick up the simplest of things. Then the strange rattle. Days later, one of the two main wheels fell off. Great. Not only is it impossible to fix, but I took the other one apart to try to figure out the mechanics of it, and now can't get that one back on. I don't know how the bolt ever fastened the wheel to the body, because when I try to screw it in there myself, it just slides right out every time. Believe me, I've tried everything possible to get those wheels back on. I still like the fact that you can see what you've sucked up, but I was surprised at the cheap way you empty it out, with this wheel crank that practically leaves you with having to pull the garbage out yourself. Now I have to go buy another vacuum cleaner and quickly, because we have a cat and a baby that's mobile now...'nuff said...like we have the money to buy another vacuum cleaner...

Summary: Worst vacuum ever 2007-07-16
Comment: Don't waste your money. Now that Euro Pro has taken over Fantom the product is extremely well below standards. This has no suction whatsoever. Had a problem with a Euro Pro stick vacuum years ago and the company wouldn't make it right with me. My old Fantom Thunder worked for years but this new one I bought is horrible.

Summary: Fantom of the Terrible 2006-11-07
Comment: I received this vacuum cleaner as a Christmas gift. At first the suction was great and I loved how the on/off switch was big and easy to turn on and off with my hand instead of a kick switch (on/off button at the base of the vacuum cleaner). But unfortunately within months the vacuum started losing suction fast, so I took it to the repair shop and I was back in business (so I thought). About a month later the suction started to fade and I felt that I had just gotten a bad vacuum cleaner out of the bunch. After reading several reveiws I see that this vacuum cleaner "sucks" and might I add the head lamp worked only one time but it made the machine give off so much heat, that I would work up a sweat every time I used the darn thing. Once the canister got 1/4" full the vacuum cleaner became very heavy and dragged across the carpet hardly sucking up anything. No setting seemed to work. This is an item for the dumpster.

Comment: I like many other have experienced the power going off/on while cleaning. I have owend the vacuum for about 2 years and was pleased with the cleaning ability. I was about to take it to a repair shop and read some of the reviews. I will invest my money in something else.

Summary: Money Down the Drain 2006-01-05
Comment: After owning a cheap and inexpensive vacuum cleaner, three years ago I decided to make an investment and purchase the Phantom after seeing the exceptional demonstrations on television. Thinking I would get at least ten years out of this product, I was sadly mistaken when I attempted to use it and it wouldn't cut on a few days ago. A couple of times it cut on, but immediately cut right back off. I wasn't worried at first because I really loved this product. The clean up was great and the versatlity of the hose makes this vaccum stand alone, but as soon as I took it into the repair shop the representative immediately knew there was nothing he could do. Why? Because there were other Phantoms in the back (the Phantom graveyard)also burnt out and unrepairable. The reason is becuase the cord contains some piece that is not available and the only option is to pay and send it back to Euro-pro which would be unreasonable when you might as well by a knew one. This is just a warning to people who consider purchasing any type of Euro-Pro product. Don't do it unless you have money to ship it to them and you don't mind wasting money. The reason I trusted the repairman was because I had read the other reviews, and recently I saw another review on a euro pro product which stated the same information about the unavailabily of replacement parts it was just a different item. Point blank....Euro- Pro products are crappy and there's no way to way I would buy another item from them.
