With a grooved channel to catch juices for making sauces and gravies and prevent spillovers, the 12-by-18-inch poly cutting board is ideal for slicing and serving roasts and poultry and serving them at table. It's nonabsorbent, nonporous, and dishwasher-safe, and it has a textured surface to reduce slipperiness. The 1/2-inch-thick board flips over to provide a flat side to prep vegetables or slice and serve bread. For handling and hanging on a hook or peg, one corner is angled and contains an ample handhold. The board contains Microban, an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria that can cause odors and stains in the board itself. However, the agent does not protect against food-borne bacteria so the board needs regular cleaning for proper sanitation. --Fred Brack

Summary: knife marks but no discoloration if washed in machine 2006-11-19
Comment: This board is easy to use and doesn't slide around. It is battered by the knifework but I disinfect in the dishwasher.

Summary: Large Board, Easy to Clean 2002-07-24
Comment: I have only had this board for a month and it has already become my favorite cutting board for all meats.I have other new Farberware cutting boards too. These new poly boards are so nice I find myself rarely using my beautiful wood boards. This board is great for cutting cooked and uncooked meats using the side with the wide juice channel. The other side is great for veggies or other non juicy foods... Update: I've had this board for about a year. This board is white and shows knife marks unlike the clear 3 piece poly set by Farberware. I lowered my rating to four stars because the distinctive knife marks make this board visually unappealing and the marks won't bleach out. Of course, it is still just as easy to sanitize, just not as nice looking. In the end, the wood boards are probably best IMHO.
