Summary: Fits the bill nicely. 2007-05-07
Comment: This is a lovely pot, ideal for making a small amount of soup or general cooking. A lid would be nice, but I've got others that are usable, if not a perfect fit. All in all, a nice extra pot to have around, and a very nice quality for the price.

Summary: An excellent buy! 2007-01-12
Comment: This is an excellent buy! I looked at more expensive pots, but this one was reasonably priced (meaning it was within my meager budget) so I took a gamble. I love it! It's heavy, solid, well-made and food cooks beautifully in it. No need to pay more - I highly recommend this one!

Summary: SERIOUSLY Needs a Lid 2006-12-28
Comment: I've had the old aluminum-clad Farberware for a long time; this saucier is my first experience with the new "Farberware Classic" line of clad-disc cookware produced in Thailand.
Overall, I'm pleased. The quality and heft of the product is a very good match for vintage Farberware produced in the Bronx, even though it's easy to see that a few details have been changed. Cooking performance is what I'm accustomed to. So far, so good.
But there are two drawbacks- one small, one large. The first is that a new, deeply impressed Farberware logo on the pan's bottom replaces the old version I'm used to. The lettering is so deeply and sharply incised that it is bound to pick up grease and burn it into the recesses of the logo, creating a cleaning problem.
The second, more serious drawback is that this piece has no lid, and none is available. None of the traditional Farberware lid sizes fit it. That's a largish problem in a saucier, where it's often desirable to simmer slowly without reducing, as when making a veloute, to develop flavor.
It's to be hoped that the popularity of this saucier will inspire Farberware's current owners to finish what they've started, and complete this product with the lid it needs. Toning that logo down a bit wouldn't hurt. With those reservations, I recommend this item; the quality is high, and the blowout price makes it an excellent value for money.

Summary: Unbelievable value 2006-10-29
Comment: I also purchased the 1 1/2 quart and 2 quart and have ordered the butter warmer. Even at the suggested retail price they would be a good value. But at the price they are offered by Amazon, it really is unbelievable. Buy now before Amazon realizes they're priced too low!
