Functional as well as beautiful, this 6-quart stockpot is made of heavy 18/10 stainless steel polished to a mirror finish and has an aluminum core in its base that spreads heat quickly and evenly. The core is completely clad in stainless steel so, like the rest of the pot, the bottom resists corrosion and discoloring and cleans up easily. Thick rolled rims add durability and make it possible to pour from the pan without dripping. Because the pan comes with a domed lid that self-bastes foods it can be used for braising on the stovetop or in the oven. (The handles are oven-safe to 350 degrees F and stay cool on the stovetop.) The pot measures 9-3/4 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep. It's dishwasher-safe and comes with a lifetime warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Comment: I couldn't be happier with my Farberware Classic, 6-qt.covered stock pot. I could not not find this item anywhere else. I tossed out my old beat up teflon coated pot. This completes my set of Classic Farberware. I highly recommend it. It cooks and cleans beautifully.

Summary: Farberware Classic 6-Quart Stockpot with Lid 2007-12-17
Comment: When I purchase anything new I want it to work as advertised and be safe to use -- be it clothes, car, electrical appliance, food, etc. In this case I bought the stainless steel Farberware Classic 6-Quart Stockpot with Lid. I wasn't looking for beautiful as described in the Farberware blurb -- though a product that looks good is an added bonus of course. Rather I want the design to work; is it built heavy strong enough to to stand up to ordinary and occasional misuse in the kitchen. That is, if I lose track of time and burn the stew, chili or beans I am cooking, is there a real danger of fire as well? My opinion is this stockpot will stand the test of time. It had heft and a good feel right out of the box. I use an electric range on medium heat and it does the job beautifully with no worries. Just what I wanted. Oh, and the price was reasonable too. I also recommend you read the user reviews, good and bad. Take them with a grain of salt too.

Comment: I love this product. Been using Farberware for years! A few years ago I purchased a more expensive set and wasn't pleased with it. I would recommend Farbereware to anyone!!! THE BEST
