Summary: Absolutely fantastic 2008-08-15
Comment: I did not expect to be getting a nice set of pans when I ordered these since I ordered them as something to use at our new house we were remodeling rather than drag over my calphalon.
Boy was I surprised! They're a really good weight, well constructed, cook well, and are nice to look at too. I am so pleased with these, I totally recommend them. I got rid of my heavy calphalon because to me, these are better. Way easier to manage than those super heavy pans. The only thing is there is no vent hole in the lids so you can't cover boiling things completely or you'll get boil over.
I hate non-stick so I was very happy to have a stainless steel set without it.
Also, a magnet barely holds to these pans which means a higher quality stainless...it's 18/10.
I don't have any issues with discolouration like some people have said but I always handwash pots and pans and I clean them right away so no oil, grease or food gets stuck on. If you use gas stove, cook with it the way you're supposed to (flame doesn't go over the sides of the pan) and they won't blacken.
Get these! One of the best buys I've made.

Summary: Exploding Lid 2008-08-14
Comment: I just wanted to warn everyone that has these to be careful with them please. I was heating up some tomato sauce tonight in the 1 qt. saucepan with a lid on so that it didn't splash. I'd heated it and it was sitting on "warm" for about 5 minutes when all of a sudden the lid exploded. There was a large hole in the center and glass was everywhere. I have the stainless steel pans with glass lids. I'd never had a problem with glass lids before, and I'd been using these ones for a few weeks. I'll be contacting Farberware tomorrow to see if this is a common problem or if they have anything to say. Luckily there were no injuries, but it could have been bad and I wouldn't want it to happen to anyone else.

Summary: Quality and Value for Your Dollar 2008-07-15
Comment: I chose Farberware when I moved into my first apartment over 35 years ago. It is still my favorite cookware. Even when I buy a new set, the old ones are still so good, I don't discard them, I give them away. These pots and pans are well constructed with stay-cool handles, cook evenly, clean easily and look good on the stovetop or counter - at a more than reasonable cost. I prefer the metal lids to glass (breakage) but whatever your choice, you cannot go wrong with Farberware. There may indeed be better cookware out there, but I haven't had reason to wonder or wander.

Summary: Discoloration after the second use! 2008-06-29
Comment: I have the stainless steel version with the glass lids. After the second washing in the diswasher the insides of these pans bacame discolored with strange blue spots and very very white smaller spots. I was shocked because I have owned several types of stainless steel pans and have never seen this kind of discoloration before. I would steer clear of these and get something else. I regret this purchase. Wolfgang Puck is a MUCH better choice.

Summary: I kinda miss my non stick pans 2008-06-26
Comment: I noticed that many of the reviews are associated with the non-stick version of this cook-set.
My review is based off of the cookware set that is plainly STAINLESS-STEEL.
The material is fantastic. It feels heavy and durable in my hands and the grippy rubber handles are a great touch. Makes you feel great if you're just learning how to cook.
One thing I do recommend is buying a separate non-stick for things like eggs or pancakes. I "Pam"med the heck out the frying pan and eggs would still stick. Terrible.
The pans get super-hot, super-fast. You definitely have to find a happy medium with the food and your pans because it will cause discoloration or burn spots
