The Farberware Traditions line features classic-look cutlery at an inexpensive price for the home cook. This five-piece set supplies a novice chef, college student, or vacation home with some very nice basics. Included are 3-1/2- and 5-inch santoku knives for paring and chopping vegetables and thinly slicing meat and fish; a five-inch chef's for cutting carrots and mincing onions; and an all-purpose, five-inch utility knife with a serrated blade that's good for slicing tomatoes, fruit, and sandwiches. For safe storage, a hardwood block in a natural finish is included with the four knives. The block is small enough that it can be carried with ease to any prep space in the kitchen. Each Farberware Traditional knife is constructed of a high-carbon, stainless-steel blade that has been precision ground and a full-tang, triple-riveted handle. Clad in a durable composite material in a choice of black or red, the handle has been ergonomically shaped for just the right balance and comfort. While the knives are dishwasher-safe, Farberware recommends washing the cutlery by hand.
