Summary: Good Little Cleaner 2008-03-12
Comment: This is easy to use, light and works good. For tough spots you'll have to go over it a time or two (or three) but for the price and size, it does a very good job. I would definitely recommend it.

Summary: Best Upright Steamer in it's League 2008-03-12
Comment: I have tried several models. This is my 3rd purchases in the last 10 years of this particular style. This is the best upright steamer available under $300. It is powerful enough to suck up coffee, tea, you name it...on the carpet and remove the stains as well. For more diffult stains, I recommend pre-treatment with a carpet spray cleaner. It is lightweight and also easy to take apart and clean after use. Perfect for smaller living quarters or the average house. The upolstry tools are invaluable!! especially you wake up in the night and tumble down a stairwell with a steaming cup of hot cocoa that flies up and rains down all over the place...honestly I don't know how I would have cleaned the stairs otherwise! The only down side is that after about 3 years of use, twice I've had an inner gasket go which created a constant water stream...I hope with this newer one...dirt devil has fixed the gasket problem. The motor otherwise is guarenteed to run for 10 years! I probably could have gotten the gasket repaired but passed the older models on to family. I love this item and would recommend it to anyone....It's a great value for the power and results you receive. P.S. Don't buy any other dirt devil model...the larger ones are clunky and don't do the job well...I tried them and returned them. Hope this helps--heres to a clean house!

Summary: Light weight steamer 2008-02-28
Comment: This is the 2nd. of this kind and brand I've purchased in the last 7 years. I am happy with it except for the fact that this time around, when I bought it from Amazon, the spongy filter in the dirty water tank was falling apart like tissue paper on just the second time I used it! Such thing never happened with my previous steamer. Unfortunately, this part is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty...

Summary: Gets carpet very clean with little effort 2006-07-09
Comment: I have my carpets professionally cleaned annually, however, with a 1 year old, I find it necessary to do "touch ups" almost weekly. I had a bissel heatpro steamer, however, it is getting old and isn't cleaning very well. I decided to try this dirt devil easysteamer out, because it was only 99 at K-mart and came with a free bottle of cleaning solution. I did not have high expectations, however, this steamer worked just as well, even better than my bissel that cost $[...] more. The results were great with little effort. Another bonus was for those familiar with the rotating brush heads on bissel cleaners is that they deposit clumps of pet fur or lint along the way. The dirt devil deposits long strings of fuzz once in a while that were picked up by the brush head. Itmakes for easier pick up after cleaning. I also look forward to not worrying about the belts and flow vlave indicators that are on the bissell cleaners that gave me trouble quite a bit. I have yet to seee any benefit of the rotating heads. This machine worked better without them. The dirt devil is easier to empty. The dirty water is stored in the vaccuum "Head" and is alot easier to dump out. I have only used it once, but I am extremely happy with the results, and having owned a more expensive one with all the bells and whitstles, my suggestion would be save the extra cash and buy this cheaper one and get better results.
