Summary: poor illy service 2008-04-19
Comment: After reading the review about the problems with a machine ordered through Amazon, I ordered this directly from Illy. I received a unit that had clearly been used (dried coffee in the overflow drain). It had no warranty card and no instructions.

Comment: This is a great little espresso machine. The espresso pods are easy to work with produce a great espresso with excellent crema. This machine does the job plus it looks fantastic. A bit loud, but whatever. Very happy with this purchase.

Summary: No Customer Service 2007-02-15
Comment: I bought the X6 and it made good coffee and looked great in the Kitchen. About two weeks later it began to leak. I called the customer service line for Illy, at first they told me that they would exchange the unit, but when they found out that I purchased it from Amazon they told me that I would have to send it in for repair and that would be a 4-6 week turnaround time. Illy customer service told they would send a shipping box Fed-ex to me for the return and they made me fax the original Amazon order directly to them. After two weeks no return box, no call, and no e-mail which Illy customer service had all three contacts.Illy told me to return the unit to Amazon. Could you imagine 3 weeks or more just to obtain the return packaging followed by 4-6 week repair time, and god knows how long it would take to ship back but you are talking 2-3 months without a coffee maker. The customer service agent told me quote "we are just getting are act together and we are running behind". Do not buy this product until Illy has some form of funtional customer service in this country.
