Summary: Just as the name suggests... 2008-09-15
Comment: What might you expect from a coffee named "Dixie Voodoo"? Smoky? Dark? Earthy? Woody? Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Someone who is a medium or light roast drinker should avoid this coffee, but if you like a dark roast, this one is notably distinct. It may, or may not, be your cup of, er, coffee. But at clearance prices, you can't go wrong at trying it. Oh, and given the current hurricane season, I should mention "flooded." I have had no trouble using these with my Senseo, unlike the Lavazza I ordered from here. But another reviewer does give good advice: if you're having trouble with this in your Senseo, try wetting it first and then putting it into the holder.

Summary: Excellent Decaf Dark Roast 2008-09-15
Comment: Strong dark roast. Works very well in the Senseo provided you follow the following steps: 1) use the single cup holder 2) thoroughly moisten the pod in the holder by holding under a cold water tap 3) pour off excess water 4) smooth moistened pad with finger so that coffee is evenly distributed throughout pod 4) place in Senseo and enjoy. Fratello and Timothy pods on sale at Amazon have about twice as much coffee as the weak Douwe Egberts pods made for Senseo. Fratello pods are made in Calgary, Alberta. Many thanks to our neighbor to the north.

Summary: Dark roast? Toooooo much! 2008-09-05
Comment: WOW--I guess this would be an uber-dark roast. It almost tastes burnt. I'm sorry I ordered them. There might be a complex palate of flavors under there, but I'm really overwhelmed by the darkness of the roast.
Maybe I got a bad batch? I'll try a few packs from the other boxes, but the first box I opened up was undrinkable. I can see why these were on clearance. I might have to reserve these for the guests I dislike. ;)
