Summary: Great dishes! 2008-09-21
Comment: I bought these dishes at Macy's brick and mortar and love them! They don't get those gray scratches from utensils like stoneware dishes and they are a lovely size and shape. The plates are flat and the pattern is fairly smooth, so no difficulties eating off of them or cleaning them. The bowls are the best...the little ones are perfect for so many side dishes and desserts...we use them the most! My kids particularly like the small bowls best. The larger bowls are perfect for cereal and soup...we prefer this shape to the more common rimmed ones...they take up less space when stacked in the cupboard! The color is a lovely off-white and food looks beautiful when served on them. The price is amazing...better here at Amazon than at Macy's ($85), but since they were backordered here at the time, I didn't want to wait...and I had a 20% off coupon, so that helped!!!

Comment: I ordered 2 sets of these dishes at the same time. One box was fine and one box had 2 broken bowls in it. (despite the fact that there was literally 7 inches of large bubble wrap all around the internal box) I suspect the product may have been damaged before it was shipped. who knows.
Anyway, i contacted Amazon through their "call you back" feature and spoke with somebody in the philipines. I was worried. Well, they ended up shipping a whole new box to me, which came intact. There was really no hassle except for having to call. Amazon made it right and will keep me as a customer.
As to the set, it is lovely. The dinner plates and "large" bowls are a bit smaller than i imagined they would be, but we are always trying to cut back in the amount of food we eat, so no big deal. I'm not talking a lot smaller just noticeable from our Mikasa Italian countryside plates and the bowls were smaller. I did like the 2 sizes of bowls in this set and that is what helped me decide which to order.

Summary: Incredible value top quality 2008-04-07
Comment: The entire set of dishes fits into an amazingly small box that is also boxed and then wrapped in an entire roll of bubble wrap and boxed again to insure that every piece arrives in perfect condition...and it did. Food looks so good on these pure white dishes. The colors of the food and sauces are the focus. Great in the microwave and pretty impossible to chip or break. Anyone who needs a set of dinnerware should get these. The low price is not in any way related to the quality.
