The Technology This wine cellar uses Thermal Electric Cooling. Thermal electric (also referred to as semiconductor) wine cellars do not use a compressor and therefore create minimal noise and vibration, keeping wine safe and letting it age better. Besides being extremely quiet, the lack of vibration prevents bubbles from forming in stored wine. This helps preserve the optimum taste of the wine. In addition, thermal electric units have no moving parts, offering high reliability and low maintenance while precisely maintaining the ideal pre-set temperature for wine. Thermal electric technology is also environmentally friendly, as no damaging CFC, HCFC or HFC type refrigerants are involved in the cooling process. Summary: Did not last long 2008-09-09
Comment: Worked for a little more than a year then died unannounced. No lights, no fans. Opened up the back and found the 2 fuses were still intact. That means the electronics just stopped working. By the way, the fuses are SOLDERED to the circuit board. How the h--- are you going to replace them if they're blown? You better find another brand more reliable than this Chinese-designed and made product.

Like the title says - very sleek, classy appearance, and I was very surprised when I plugged it in - VERY quiet. Great price, too, it's tempting to get 2, one for reds, one for whites. At 11" wide, it fits anywhere.

Comment: I love the appearance and performance of this wine cooler! It's only 12" wide, yet holds 18 bottles...perfect for my space...I'll definitely reccomend this unit to my friends. Haier seems like a solid company...I've been seeing lot's more of them lately.

This unit quit working while I was out of town. No telling how many bottles are ruined tanks to this peice of junk.
There is no power getting to the unit. They don't repair it only exchange. They are difficult to deal with, very crappy customer service after navigation of an infinite phone tree. Because the power is not working I must cut the electrical cord and ship it back with all the docuementation of the purchase (even though I bothered to register the product). To boot they want me to sent $14.99 to cover thier shipping and handling of the new unit. These guys suck big time. Then they had the nerve to request I send everything registed mail becasue if they loose the original registration and reciept I'm screwed. Do not buy a HAIER (made in China) piece of crap product. Spend the extra and go with a reputable brand like Vino Temp. I wish I had.....
