Product Description
The Koolatron P20 Compact 12V Cooler from Koolatron was specially designed to fit in those tight spaces between and behind the seats of your car, van or truck. A 12-Volt cooling unit plugs into your vehicles cigarette lighter. Koolatron P20 compact cooler can be set to keep your food up to 40°C colder than the outside temperature.
The Compact Cooler has a capacity of 18 quarts, enough space to hold 23 12 oz. soft drink cans. Its latch-less lid can be opened with one hand and also features a swinging foldaway handle for easy carrying. Other features include a unique cord wrap, lighter storage spot and interior fan.
The 12v Compact Cooler can be plugged into any vehicle cigarette lighter providing 12 Volts DC, or converted to operate on 110V or 220V AC with an AC Adapter (sold separately). Ideal 12v DC Appliance in your car.
A long life brush less motor powers an interior convection fan, keeping air flowing through all parts of the koolatron P20 compact cooler.
If you want your food to stay warm, no problem! 12v Compact Cooler can also act as a warmer.

Summary: Pretty Good for a boat 2008-08-08
Comment: We bought it to use on our sailboat so that we did not have to open the Ice Chest on Hot Days to remove luncheon meat or a drink. We use it with the AC/DC converter so that we use it mostly in port. (Don't like to use batteries when under sail.)
My wife feels that it works fine providing you cool it down well before using it.

Comment: Fit perfectly behind the front seat of our Cadillac. Cooler did an excellent job of working for our 3 week vacation. Our only disappointment was the directions not specifying that the blue and red dots on the plugs lining up with the arrow decides whether the cooler runs cold or hot. Also, make sure your food is already hot or cold, and the cooler has been running for at least 30 minutes, before placing in cooler.

Summary: UGH! Stay away from this! 2008-06-24
Comment: This came without a cord. Then we had to get a different cord (more money) to plug it in when not in the car. Then it stopped working altogether. It wasn't worth the time and aggravation. I'm giving it away.

Comment: the cooler was delivered in just a few days. it fits perfectly between the seats of my minivan and behind the passenger seat of my sedan. it's a bit noisy to operate in the house, but the noise is completely drowned out at highway speeds in a car. it is a good size and keeps things cool for quite a while even when the car is turned off.
