No, it doesn't talk but it does just about everything else including what it is designed to do....make toast! Read the product description and decide if you want more or less features and benefits. It is a high quality toaster. Just think, the designers thought about the people who are actually going to make toast with this gadget and put the left and right removable crumb trays in front for easy cleaning!

Customer Rating: Summary: Love this toaster!! 2007-12-07 Comment: This is the first really nice toaster that I have ever purchased and I am impressed it will toast thick breads begals and even will warm bread on the top. It is stylish and looks nice with my stainless steel appliances. I like the fact that it will raise the bread out of the toaster so you won't be tempted to stick someting in it to get your food out. I really like the controls and modern look. Honestly there is not a thing I do not like about it!! I will never buy a cheap toaster again and hope this one will last many years.

Customer Rating: Summary: Makes breakfast better. 2007-09-25 Comment: We've owned the toaster for five months. It is a toaster after a gourmet's heart. I love the otherwise boring breakfast of hot cereal and toast because it turns the bread into a treat.

Customer Rating: Summary: Krups FEP4B 4-Slice Toaster 2007-07-15 Comment: The toaster has the features I use the most. The warming tray is good for bagels and croissants. The toaster is precise so I have to make sure that I have it set exactly how I want my toast.
I like the "stop" feature, in case I want to interrupt a toasting option.
This is a good toaster.
