Amazon.com Review
Talk about an ice breaker! This large mold, looking like a luge course at the Winter Olympics, fills with water, pops into the freezer for 24 hours to thoroughly freeze, and creates the most-talked-about party centerpiece in years. Drink shots poured in the top of the two chutes not only chill on their way downhill but can be raced against each other to see which one spills into the waiting glass first. Measuring 17 by 14-1/2 inches, the luge consists of a translucent-as-ice, durable plastic mold that sits on a lime-green base, and makes a definitely unique gift for your favorite party animal. --Ann Bieri

Summary: works well until it cracks 2008-10-09
Comment: worked great for a few times--then it broke. don't use hot water on the plastic when it's frozen--it'll crack. lukewarm is the furthest i'd go.

Summary: Fun, but only if you skip the shot glasses 2008-06-10
Comment: I bought one of these at Urban Outfitters, and thought how fun it would be to have an ice luge at a party! It's very important that it freezes on a level surface, but there's no way anything you pour down the chutes will end up in a glass like the picture suggests.
If you're throwing a party with really close friends that don't mind sucking off the same block of ice, this is the ice luge for you.

Summary: Do some of you have a clue? 2008-06-07
Comment: I realize they show shot glasses at the bottom of this thing in the photo..so for all of you complaining that there is no place to put the glasses and no lip or funnel for the glasses I understand why you'd think this. But have any of you ever ACTUALLY DONE an ice luge before? THEY ARE NOT MEANT FOR GLASSES TO BE USED!!! You are supposed to put your mouth at the bottom of the luge to get the drink..THATS WHAT MAKES IT FUN!! You pour a shot of clean water down after each shot to rinse it if your concerned about mixing shot flavors on the same path, or if you dont want to put your mouth on the ice right after the last person. Use your mouth and you will have MUCH more fun and find the luge to work much better. I have no idea why they show this with the glasses other than they try to sell you the glasses with this. NO ONE and NO PLACE I have ever been have used glasses with an ice luge. It defeats the purpose of trying to catch the shot in your mouth and to see who can drink the longest shot etc..

Summary: Dont waste your money 2008-06-03
Comment: Not worth the $20.. Find a local place that does Block Ice and make your own luge. The plastic container is cheap and doesnt carve out trails well and the mouths are too close. In the NY/CT area, try the Icehouse of danbury, thats the only place I know who does block ice around here.
