Comment: Mikasa makes some excellent dinnerware and this set is one of their classics. It really leans more toward China than everyday ware since it looks more classic and is lighter. Quality is excellent and Amazon shipped it perfectly.

Comment: This review is by Bruce's wife. I didn't know how to change it to show my name, instead of his. I have wanted this pattern ever since I selected American Colonial by Oneida as my Stainless Steel many years ago. I finally got them for Christmas this past year and for my birthday got Libby Gibraltar glassware to go with them. These dishes have a classic Colonial design that goes perfect with the stainless. And I was surprised to find out that they are china, not stoneware, so they are not bulky and heavy. I love the fact that there are as many accessory pieces available as there were for my formal china. I use these every day, The inside of my cups are nice and smooth, the other writer may have gotten a bad lot. I have no doubt that these will be the last set of dishes that I purchase. I am very satisfied with these dishes, and would recommend them highly.

Comment: I bought 2 sets of this and am using them everyday. They didn't look as pretty as I expected at first,and I couldn't be so sure if it was a good buy considering the price. But the set definitely gives a warm & comfotable feeling. They are so durable that last week,I accidently banged one of the mug to the corner of my kitchen counter tile so hard but it didn't break nor crecked. There's just one thing that I don't like; the inside of the mugs is not really smooth. I don't know why they came out like this. You might need to wash them (the inside of the mugs) carefully; otherwise there might be some leftover coffee stain.

Comment: We just bought another three sets after trying out one (making 16 place settings total). We love this stuff. This set, in particular, is great due to the right sizes of everything (i.e. mugs that actually hold a good-sized drink, and bowls that are actually large/deep enough to old salads & cereal, & plates are just the right size but also stack nice and thin). The style is timeless; every piece is incredibly durable and dishwasher/m-wave safe. And it goes w/endless matching and non-matching dishes.
Buy it; you'll love it. The price is incredible at Amazon as well; this set is $200 most other places NOT including shipping.

Comment: I am glad I found these dishes on Amazon for such a great price (plus free shipping, imagine that!). They're cheaper on Amazon than going to the Mikasa Outlet, even with the 25% discount they're offering due to some stores closing. They're beautiful and sturdy--very happy with my purchase.
