Product Description
9.75" x 9.75" x 4.4", 10 Cup Capacity, Castle Bundt Pan, Bake A Classic Bundt Cake In The Shape Of A Castle. Amazon.com Review
This magical castle pan from NordicWare's Platinum baking series is an imaginative addition to the company's novelty bundt collection. Featuring a great door with a stone entryway, tall corner towers, and high fortress walls (a clever disguise for the center tube), the pan transforms 10 cups of cake batter into a realistic medieval building. What a fun cake shape for a birthday boy! Bakers will love the heavyweight cast aluminum construction for its gentle, balanced heating that produces deliciously moist centers and lightly browned crusts. The pan also features a nonstick interior for easy food release and a heat-reflective exterior to prevent edges from overcooking and burning. Especially durable and warp-resistant, every detail on the pan transfers clearly to the baked good- so bring out the decorating tools and get creative. A narrow outside rim facilitates flipping and carrying. Measuring 9-3/4 inches square by approximately 4-1/2 inches high, this pan is best washed by hand to ensure years of quality service. It is made in the USA and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. --Kara Karll

Summary: Very versatile, quality product that delivers 2008-10-06
Comment: Even after having owned this pan for years, I still enjoy it as much as when first purchased. I have baked several types of cakes and used it as a gelatin mold. The pan still performs & looks unused.
Some suggestions:
- Follow the directions for flouring and cooling. If you don't, you'll be using a toothpick to clean those details. Otherwise, the cakes lifts out perfectly.
- I use Bak-klene spray available at Williams-Sonoma, where I purchased the pan. Then I flour the pan.
- Smooth recipes provide the best results. One recipe with crushed pineapple resulted in loss of detail & difficulty removing from pan.
- When using as a gelatin mold, follow the instructions for Jigglers(TM). I followed the quick-set method & the finished product did stand up but was very unstable.
- Make an Undersea Castle with gelatin and gummy fish & sharks. Do not try to make seaweed using the yogurt gummy rolls. They dissolve in the gelatin.
- Make a haunted house or Dracula's Castle for Halloween.
- Dress the cake up for these themes: Christmas Wonderland, Princess, Horse Trainer or Pirate.
- Brown sugar makes a great base for your castle.

Summary: excellent product 2008-09-05
Comment: This is a heavy, quality product - no way it can warp or get dinged. The no-stick coating is excellent. I used a baking spray, such as Pam, & each of the four cakes I made released perfectly, without losing a detail - even the one with crushed nuts added to the pan before the batter. I was simply careful to apply the spray to a completely dry pan. And the pan has wonderful detail & is very obviously a castle! I baked several cakes for a beach party & I wanted a sand castle so I followed someone's suggestion to cover the serving plate with brown sugar for a "sand" affect, & my guests loved it! With all the detail, this is not for a cake with frosting.

Summary: Cute cake! 2008-08-06
Comment: I bought this cake pan for my 2YO daughter's beach/pool birthday party. The cake turned out really cute. Three of the turrets didn't turn out so cleanly, but I think it only made it look more like a sandcastle! (I used cooking spray instead of shortning.) Also, a boxed cake mix, didn't quite come up to the edge of the pan to get the cute steps. Overall, I was very happy with the cake.

Summary: Perfect for a children's Christmas party! 2008-05-20
Comment: I baked a cake in this pan, and donated it to a children's Christmas party that my workplace was giving for mostly underpriviledged children. I was not able to attend, but a co-worker told me what a hit the cake was with the children, even though it only had powdered sugar sprinkled on it. She also told me that several just sat and stared at it before someone won it in a cake walk. I plan to bake several more specialty pan cakes for the party this year--another castle, a train, big boat, etc.
