Summary: good knife, really Great at price point 2008-09-03
Comment: I ordered this and 6 other similar knives that have sets under $200 and are well reviewed.
pros: I have to say for the price, after a good sharpening, its an excellent blade, it appears Cast or Forged, though its sold on some sites as Stamped, the shoulder has no joint so it would need to be stamped from 1/2" or bigger stock, so might as well be forged as it is thick and sturdy. its held the edge well, it came fairly sharp, but a little work in a simple sharpener made it almost perfect. handle is super comfy.
I like alot about it, its been run through the dishwasher a few times, no rust, or spots, If you are going to use in the dishwasher, use a heated dry cycle or remove immediately to wipe dry, we are using Electrasol all in 1 Gelpacs, 1 or 2 per load depending on whats in there.
Cons: the rubbery handles may be a food/water trap, only time will tell on that one, they appear fairly snug, but pliable, i've been keeping an eye on it and its not been an issue so far but I'd suspect the dishwasher forcing water up there with soap in it will cause rust eventually. just my opinion though. if you plan to hand wash, I wouldn't be too concerned, because its a tight enough setup that this won't be an issue in hand washing.

Summary: Cuts Like A Knife 2008-08-03
Comment: Fantastic addition to any knife rack. Easy to hold. Nice balance. Have many other OXO products and always expect them to outperform others. For the price this is well worth buying. I only wish they made sheaths for Kitchen knives so that you could wear them on your belt. Rambo Stylie!

Summary: Grest knife especially for injured hand 2008-07-19
Comment: This is an amazing knife in general, works great and is very comfortable to hold. I have nerve damage in my right hand from an accident and this is the first knife that I've bought which I can hold comfortably and in which the handle grip doesn't cause me any pain. Highly recommended!

Summary: Great little knife 2008-07-13
Comment: I purchased this to go with the 'Oxo Good Grips Professional 14-Piece Knife Block Set' that I also purchased on the same day. I'm glad I ordered it because I find myself reaching for a smaller knife many times! :) It works great in a home kitchen!

Summary: Very impresssed 2008-06-29
Comment: I bought this knife as I wanted a smaller chef's knife, and wasn't in the mood to cough up $50 - $70 for a Henckels. Much to my surprise, I really prefer the feel of this knife in my hand to the feel of my Henckels (I have a set of Henckels Gourmet - not top of the line, but not the cheapest either).
I have used the Oxo for six months, and it remains sharp. I hand-wash and dry it every time I use it, and run it through my ceramic knife sharpener a couple of times before putting it back in the block. I will not hesitate to buy more Oxo knives. The blade seems quite good, and the balance and comfort-level is excellent.
