Sized to fit most microwave ovens, including compacts, this popcorn maker pops virtually every kernel of 3 quarts of popcorn in about 2-1/2 minutes. And it works with or without oil and/or salt. That means no more of the unpopped, scorched kernels typically left behind when popping bagged corn. The popcorn maker uses two innovations that concentrate microwave radiation onto the popcorn. First is a removable base that locks onto the transparent bowl. Second is a disposable paper cup that fits into the bowl's bottom. A package of eight cups accompanies the unit, and others can be purchased separately--each is good for about 12 batches when used with oil or 24 without oil. Both bowl and lid are dishwasher-safe. The popcorn maker is 9-3/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches high and carries a two-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Summary: I Can't Believe Anyone Gave a Positive Rating to This Thing!? 2008-10-02
Comment: I bought mine at WalMart, and have tried it with and without oil. Very few kernels actually pop under any circumstances. I can only leave it in my medium size microwave for about 35 seconds. Any longer and it will begin to burn, and I mean a black, foul smelling sort of burn! The original product that Orville Redenbacher lent his name to must have been a better quality product. It has obviously been cheapened in some way, because there is no way Orville Redenbacher would stand for having his name on this thing.

Summary: Disappointed about buying replacement concentrators 2008-10-01
Comment: I loved this popcorn popper, UNTIL I ran out of the concentrators that were provided with the popper. After looking at numerous stores to find the replacement concentrators, I realized that I was going to have to buy them online. Then, I realized that if I buy more concentrators, I am going to be paying almost what I payed to purchase the popcorn popper, just in replacement pieces and shipping and handling! I will be looking for another popcorn popper.

Comment: I got tired of microwave popcorn bags more and more of unpopped kennels. This goes into diswasher. I really wish it didn't have the pice that needs to replace but I don't use oil so I have only had to do that when I burned one batch.

Summary: Lesser quality than my original Presto PowerPop 2008-09-24
Comment: Bought this product many many years ago and it made perfect popcorn every time. The concentrator cups would last around 15 times each. In September 2008 I purchased two Presto Power Poppers as replacement for myself and my mother after our original Presto poppers developed cracks. We each use this popper about 5 times a week. Both of these new poppers got holes and scorched the concentrator cup and melted the plastic lid the first time we used it. This plastic bowl and lid is MUCH thinner than our original. It makes me very sad they have cheapened this product to the point it is no longer usable. WOULD NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER AND WILL PROBABLY RETURN THESE!

Summary: Only tried it once so far 2008-09-11
Comment: I have only tried this once so far but really liked these ease of use and clean up. Popcorn was a little dry but nothing a little butter wont cure. I am looking forward to trying the recipes included.
