Comment: I love this size! I think it's great to store leftover corn or beans without having to use a size way to big for what you need. This size and the 3 cup rectangle are my favorite pyrex sizes.

Summary: Wonderful little storage container 2007-11-25
Comment: Pyrex glass storage dishes are a big step up from plastic, even from expensive plastic. They hold up better than plastic in the freezer, microwave, and dishwasher, and unlike plastic can go in the oven too. I have about 10 of the larger 2-cup storage dishes with lids, and all of them are in use!
I found just one 1-cup dish with lid at a mom&pop hardware store years ago, bought it, and have been looking for more ever since then. I even posted a request somewhere on Amazon last year ... and lo and behold, Amazon now has this hard-to-find item! Yes! If you have little kids or you cook a lot, these tiny 1-cup dishes with lids are ideal for saving small portions of food.
The blue lid is a nice midnight blue.
