Celebrity chef Rachael Ray gets innovative with shaping for this large sauté pan, with effective and versatile results. Hard-anodized aluminum for durability, the pan heats evenly and quickly, while a nonstick interior helps with food release and cuts down on the fats necessary for cooking. The pan's wide oval shape takes up minimal space when the stovetop is crowded, and the glass lid lets you watch over food without releasing heat or steam. The signature Rachael Ray orange handles have nonslip, heat-resistant silicone grips, and a helper handle on this pot makes draining and carrying much easier. With its 5-quart capacity and accommodating dimensions, the piece is great for everything from sautéing chicken breasts to pan-roasting asparagus. It is also safe in the oven to 400 degrees F, cleans up easily by hand, and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. --Emily Bedard

Summary: excellent product 2008-08-15
Comment: I have used this unusually shaped oval Rachel Ray pot about 4 times and each time I am so happy with the results. It fits perfectly over two burners, it cooks evenly; it holds a large quantity of food so it is perfect for stews and braising. I recommend it highly. It is well worth the price. It seems to me that it is an answer to stovetops that only have one large burner because it fits so well on two small burners with the same and perhaps better results than using just the large burner. Every cook should have at least one of these pots.

Summary: Practical AND Unpractical 2008-08-13
Comment: This pan is great for making a large skillet meal and even for boiling or roasting things on top of the stove. I do, however, find it hard to store because of its length and it doesn't quite fit on any burner on my stove. It has plenty of uses, but it's the non-cooking aspects that are unpractical. Also, just like the full set of RR Hard Anodized pots and pans, it has bolts on the interior of the pan where the handles are. Food likes to get up in there and stick. Nothing that can't be handled, but you need to put attention into cleaning that area.

Summary: wonderful, very pleased 2008-08-02
Comment: This is a nice pot with many applications. Wonderful for all dishes-especially rice with cranberries, etc. Clean-up is easy, maintains new appearance. The orange handles are cheerful. The oval shape fits nicely on one burner.
We had misgivings about the clean-up & utility of the glass lid. It is well-tempered, metal-rimmed & we like it, for you can see the inside of the pot. It is not heavy.
This is a healthy cooking tool as one does not need much oil on the base-nothing sticks. We also really like the extra high rim. We agree with the other reviewer-this is fast becoming one of our favorite pots/pans & is very useful. We are pleased with our purchase.

Summary: Saute pan 5qt 2008-07-30
Comment: This is a great pan. The handles are a big help. Like the depth of the pan too. Only down side is the heat distribution on my cooktop but not much of a problem...unless I'm using both the saute pan and the pasta pot, but I make it work, love both.

Summary: I plan to get another one soon 2008-06-21
Comment: I love this pot it is great. Why didn't someone think sooner to make a deep skillet like this. I make Pasta sauce, Cramilize onions, Fry chicken, anything you can think of. It is soooooo good I am getting another one. When it come to pots and pans Rachael Ray beats Martha Stewart hands down. Great Quailty for a great price. It is sooooo easy to clean. Try that with Martha Stewart people....
