Summary: This is the ONE!!! 2008-06-28
Comment: Our fruit basket arrived yesterday (27 June 2008) and when we opened the box we were really excited. First that we took the time to read the reviews and second that we had made such a good choice. The bowl is extremely sturdy, solid and well worth the couple extra dollars. My wife and I have been searching local stores and the internet for several weeks and glad we picked the right one. Don't shop any further, this is the one!!

Summary: Love the heft and look of this product. 2008-06-27
Comment: I received this item promptly after I ordered it...I think about 3-4 days. It was a great size and it is heavy, which is wonderful for bananas. The items feels very sturdy, which I really wanted. What I did not count on was the side holes being so big that it won't fit my heirloom tomatoes (which are larger than the general supermarket tomatoes), the brown onions, apples, peaches, or limes I have...so basically I'll have to find new fruit to get to put into the basket.. Or rather, I'm using mesh bags or being very careful to make sure the fruit won't roll out...which unfortunately, defeats the look of the basket. I have no clue which apples they've got in there, but my farmers' market Fujis roll out. I suppose the baking potatoes might stay in there if they're standing up...actually I think I have to line the inside somehow or the basket won't look as good as it ought to look.

Summary: Accurate Discription 2008-04-25
Comment: This was EXACTLY what I was looking for! As others have said, it's very stable which was an important consideration for me. Other banana holders I had tried kept tipping over and were flimsy. Besides being functional, it's a great looking piece to have out on your kitchen counter to remind your family to eat healthy fruit instead of unhealthy snacks.

Summary: Beautiful, but... 2008-03-13
Comment: This fruit basket is beautiful and well made, but it is too big to fit on my kitchen counters. It won't slid under my cabinets. It is too tall. I will keep it for the time being. It will make a nice house warming present for someone.

Summary: Well-made, attractive and functional 2007-11-21
Comment: This item is more pewter-colored than it looks in the photo - a rather dark pewter. But it's very well-built and sturdy, especially for the price, and our bananas no longer get bruised along the bottom because they no longer rest on the counter. Storing the fruit this way saves space, as well. All in all, this product serves both form and function.
