Founded in 1756, Austria's Riedel Crystal is the world's premier manufacturer of wine glasses and has always catered to the fine wine connoisseur. However, these wine tumblers are part of the company's first attempt at producing a lower priced wine glass for casual entertaining. Like Riedel's prestigious Vinum series of glasses, these tumblers are specifically designed for a particular grape varietal and still maintain their ability to enhance the flavors and aromas of the wines they were intended for. The only difference is that the tumblers are missing their stems, making them slightly less delicate to handle, more modern in appearance, and easier to fit in smaller cabinets, mini bars, picnic baskets, and the dishwasher. The O series of glasses are made of machine-made of non-leaded glass. The shape of the two glasses in this set is specifically recommended for young, full-bodied red wines with high tannin and extract, such as Cabernet or Merlot. Summary: very nice, casual wine glasses 2008-04-03
Comment: They work as advertised - I used them all the time now instead of my "stem" glasses. I like them because they are not as tippy and have a more casual look to them. I am very happy with my purchase.

Summary: Red Wine Tumblers 2008-01-24
Comment: Product met expectations, at a very competitive price. These glasses claim to oxygenate the wine and do seem to improve the taste of wine even if it is only in my head.
Only dislike was the poor packaging which was very flimsy. Amazingly these very delicate glasses arrive in one piece. I will probably buy some more for various types of other wines.

Comment: These tumblers were Christmas gifts to three people on my list. Everyone was knocked out by them, thought they were much more expensive than they were and marveled at the elegance and clever good sense of the design.

Summary: Great casual wine glasses 2008-01-13
Comment: These are wonderful casual wine glasses. What I really noticed was how thin the glass is compared to cheaper brands. It makes the wine drinking experience more sophisticated, even if you're drinking a cheap wine. I really love these glasses -- I think they are prefect for any red wine.
