Summary: No reset button 2008-08-29
Comment: We were happy with this unit for the first few uses, but after we took it apart to clean it, it stopped working. We attempted all of the troubleshooting suggestions, but still nothing. The manual made a promise of a reset button on the back of the control unit, but did not illuminate where such a reset button might be.
After searching for the button for awhile, I called Rival. The customer service representative on the phone held fast to the idea of a reset button, but could not illuminate where such a reset button might be. Her final suggestion was that I return the unit to the store, which appears to be how our relationship with this fryer will conclude.

Summary: Rival CZF530 3-Liter Cool touch deep fryer 2008-07-28
Comment: My husband got this for me about two years ago. It has lasted quite a while considering how much we use it. It's element comes out using only one hand to lift it out of the oil. The pan is removable, and washable, which is a nice feature. It holds about six pieces of chicken at a time, not a whole chicken, unless you use a banty chicken. Even if you pour oil past the recommended oil line, it won't hold a whole chicken, I tried. If you stuff too much chicken in at a time, it won't cook evenly. The recovery time on heating oil after you take out a batch of cooked food is quick. We have been very happy with this fryer, and we've cooked everything fry-able if there's such a word. We haven't been disappointed yet!

Summary: Cool Touch no more heat 2008-03-21
Comment: Purchased this deep fryer December 07. Worked fine for 3 months and then burned out. No power light. Warranty is one year but manufacturer requires customer pay for shipping both ways for repair/replacement. Not worth the shipping cost to have repaired or replaced. To bad, I liked the unit when it worked. Will look for a deep fryer from another manufacturer. May not buy Rival products in the future.

Summary: Cooks food great. Becareful with the tempature gage. 2007-12-29
Comment: This deep fryer cooks the food great. French Fries turn out golden and crispy. It also keeps the grease smell out of the house with the lid that closes. It stays clean, and is easy to store. However, I had this product for less than six months, and the first time that I took it apart to clean it, the tempature dial broke off the fryer. I had purchased it at Kmart, and did not have the receipt or the box. Since it was under 90 days, Kmart did replace it with a new one for free. I was very pleased with their customer service. I would reccomend this fryer. Just keep your receipt and the box just in case.

Summary: Great fryer 2007-10-17
Comment: This is a great fryer, I bought when me and my son started catching fish like crazy and this fryer works great. It can cook 4-5 pounds of filets at a time, or 25-30 chicken wings at a time and it works great. I did buy a plastic jug with a cap to store the oil in when I am not using it and that works great. Easy to clean and easy to use. Can't go wrong with this fryer.
