Summary: Superb for what it does, and it fits in my small kitchen. 2008-01-24
Comment: I love this thing, although I have never spun a salad in it. I use it mostly for potatoes. Let me explain. I only cook breakfast on weekends and I like eggs and potatoes. I get up, go the kitchen and take out this spinner, the Swissmar Boner slicer, and a frying pan. I peel the potatoes, then I fill the Spinner with water and using the Swissmar I slice julienne strips right into the Spinner full of water. The starch on the potatoes is washed away, then I lift the potatoes out of the Spinner in the basket, dump the water, reinsert the basket and spin the potatoes dry. It takes longer to write about it than it takes to do it. The potatoes are now dry and ready to fry. I've been doing this for years. Somewhere along the way I lost my first Spinner so I'm on my second. The weight of the potatoes, significantly more than salad, does not faze the Spinner.
The size is perfect, it's about the size of a three-quart saucier. It stores out of the way in a cabinet.
I do not think I would ever buy a bigger spinner. If I ever need to do a large salad, I'll just do it in two batches.

Summary: I love it! 2007-06-26
Comment: This product arrived a couple of days before we were having a graduation party for our granddaughter with 40 guests. It exceeded all expectations and performed like a trouper for salad greens and herbs. Plan to order two more for our daughters.

Summary: Much Better Size Spinner 2005-02-09
Comment: Having struggled with the full size Oxo spinner and really liking how well it worked but hating how much counter space and cabinet space it took up, I was very pleased to get a hold of one of these smaller units.
Its the same exact function as the larger spinner, just smaller and alot easier to store as well as being a little easier to control on the counter. If you make salad for one or maybe two people, this spinner will be perfect for you.

Summary: Awesome 2003-08-24
Comment: I'm a big OXO fan and this thing is just awesome! Berries, herbs, salad; it all spins dry. I really like caesar salads and I let the lettuce soak to rehydrate and get dirt, chemicals, bugs, etc. off. Put the lettuce in here, press the button a few times and presto, dry romaine lettuce.
