With a 2-3/4-inch bottom that fits most vehicle drink holders, this lightweight mug makes hot coffee, tea, or chocolate available on the road. Hot beverages stay hot for at least 1 hour. Cold beverages stay chilled for several hours. Twist the finely threaded stopper tight, and the mug won't leak even if it's knocked over. Twist it about a quarter-turn and drink out of either side--lips on both sides make it easy--without removing the stopper. Made of stainless steel and tough plastic, with a rubber inset inside the handle for comfort and a rubberized ring around the body for a firm grip, the mug is handsome and virtually unbreakable. It stands 7-1/4 inches high, and its smooth stainless-steel interior cleans easily with a sponge or cloth. Nissan insulated products carry five-year warranties against defects. --Fred Brack

Summary: The only mug you'll ever need 2008-07-20
Comment: My husband and I each have one of these for the am coffee on the go. It's truly leakproof which allows me to throw it in my bag without worry. My husband uses the mini-carabeener it comes with to attach it to his bag. Icy drinks stay icy even in a hot car while I'm out running errands.

Comment: This is by far the best travel mug I have ever used. Coffee stays hot for hours. No spill when closed. Son has his after couple of years and many mishaps. Fell off his truck onto pavement and still just as good as the day he got it.

Comment: This mug keeps water cold longer than any other mug I've tried. My husband sometimes leaves it in the car for 5-6 hours, and when he returns, there are still slivers of ice floating in the water in the mug! We live in Alabama, and this even happens in the summer.

Comment: The thermos/mug is FANTASTIC! It is one of the BEST thermos//mugs I have purchased, and I have purchased many, many, many over my lifetime. The Nissan mug is very well made, and the top is extremely EASY to close and open. I keep the lid closed when I'm busy and can't drink as often or I turn the lid 180 degrees in order to regularly sip my chosen drink. This thermos will keep your drink HOT for a few ( 3 ++++>) hours. Also, I use it for COLD beverages. With some ice, your beverage will stay COLD for a long time. After I have my tea or coffee in the A.M., I use it during the day for drinking water; however, I also use it at night and have it on my nightstand so I will have water to drink during the night. It stays cold ALL night, but I close the lid after drinking. This only takes an extra second so it's no big deal. While driving, close the lid if you are not drinking. This mug could 'fly' across the inside of your car and still not open! YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH THIS MUG! IF YOU REALLY NEED ONE, AND NEED ONE THAT IS DURABLE, THEN PURCHASE THIS THERMOS. I'M CERTAIN THAT THIS MUG WILL EASILY FIT INTO ANY STANDARD CUP HOLDER.

Comment: I have purchased many plastic and stainless steel mugs. This is the best I have found.
My criteria are simple:
1. Does it keep it hot?....check.
2. Does it "drink" like an unobstructed mug?....check.
3. Does it seal tight when you need it to?....check.
4. Is it easy to clean?....check.
5. Will it hold enough coffee for the commute?....half check.
The Thermos Nissan 14-oz Leak Proof Travel mug is a winner. It performs #1-#4 flawlessly. If it held a couple more ounces it would earn a full check on #5 as well.
Nice feel and good looks to boot...Buy it and enjoy it.
