Summary: I'm blending away a storm 2008-09-03
Comment: Can't say enough good things about my Vita Mix other than I use it every day since I started to make better and healthier choices for me and my family.
It's a must for smoothies and protein shakes not to mention home made salad dressings, soups, etc, etc. You will never regret the purchase and find tons of uses for it - I know I do.

Summary: Most amazing blender I have ever witnessed! 2008-08-27
Comment: Over powered for smoothies??? NO! What do you think Jamba Juice uses? I worked for a grocery store for 6 years and we used the Vitamix in the coffee area, Let Me Tell You...the machine was used ALL day EVERY day and only had to be serviced ONCE in the six years I was there. It ground ice all day and the drinks were extremely consistant. Customer Service is AWESOME! We beat those things up. The plastic never became cloudy or discolored. They are very easy to clean especially if you fill them with hot water when you're done. If there is goo on them that is hard to get off, put hot water and a little dish soap in the blender and turn it on. NO PROBLEM! LOVE it and can't praise it enough. I'm looking for one of my own right now!

Comment: This was my first expensive blender and I love it. Couldn't decide on the K-Tec or this one. After much research I chose the Vita Mix. I'm making green smoothies and nut milks. I like this one because it has a tamper and it seems to not bring as much oxygen to oxidize the green drinks. Also I like the new Vita Mix because it has a new container that has no BPA in the plastic. K - Tec is working on getting theirs changed also. The power of the Vita Mix is less but let me tell you it is powerful to break up anything I put in it. I like that I can contol everything unlike the K-Tec which is mostly programable. Some people like the K-Tec because of this. Not me I'm a control freak. The only thing I wish I had spent the extra money on the variable speed. This one only has only two speeds. Both have the same amout of power. I was trying to save some money. Vita Mix has very solid product and they have been around a long time. Another reason I went with Vita Mix.

Summary: Fine machine -- Great customer service 2008-05-20
Comment: After 5 years it had a problem with the speed control. I called their customer service (in Cleveland) and they are sending a shipping label right out so I can send it to them without paying shipping costs. It takes 2 days to fix and then they ship it back to me. Pretty amazing to have that kind of warranty and service these days.
