Summary: Very depressing publication 2007-02-19
Comment: This magazine presents itself as a source for opera singers on auditions and news about the business. The reality is that it's a very depressing publication, which does not really help young singers to build their career. The articles are not very intersting (and most of the time badly written and poorly researched) and the info about auditions is not always up to date. I think it's only a way to make money out of struggling young singers in desperate search for a community... If you stop reading it, you might finally find work.

Summary: A great resource! 2006-04-05
Comment: The single most valuable part of Classical Singer is the audition listings found in the back of every issue. This is the easiest way for singers to find out about upcoming auditions. The articles are usually short, and cover a wide range of topics. I recommend that every professional or up and coming singer subscribe to this magazine, join Opera America, and purchase Opera America's publications for singers. These two resources together provide all the information you need to make it in this business. If you are just an opera fan, then this magazine might not be of as much interest. In that case I would recommend Opera News.

Summary: Perfect Gift 2005-01-28
Comment: I bought Classical Singer for my daughter who is in High School looking to attend college. We were surprised when we found a magazine just for singers. It was by far the best gift we could get her.

Summary: Keeping Classical singers in " Pitch" 2002-11-15
Comment: I recently, for the first time, discovered the" Classical Singer". I have often dreamed of producing a magazine that gives singers like myself categorised, concise ,variety of easy to read communication on current events in the music world. Who are the current and rising stars?Where do they perform? How do I go about finding and agent? Who and where are the choruses, opera groups, to which I could apply. This magazine covers the need of a singer predominantly. Clamoring through pages of other magazines to find a paragraph which concerns my interest is a big turn off and waist of precious time. We singers have short lives you know. The Classical singers covers all my needs and fast...
