Summary: Very Good Vacuum 2010-03-21
Comment: This Hoover vacuum was purchased to replace an Oreck we'd had for a few years that was showing its age. It has proven to be better than the Oreck for which we had paid much more! It has very good cleaning power and is not heavy to manipulate. I'd definitely recommend the Hoover Tempo Widepath!

Comment: My expensive Oreck vaccum was putting as much dust into the air as it was sucking from the carpets. I did everything to try to fix the darn thing and then started looking for a replacement. It was beginning to look like it would take $$$hundreds to get good performance then I read Consumer Reports and was surprised that the Hoover TEMPO rated so highly ....and at such a low price. I also checked out many the reviews on Amazon before I made my purchase. This is a really a terrific machine and it seriously SUCKS all the dirt up. After my first pass around the house with the new Tempo I was shocked at all the dust sucked out of the carpets I had just cleaned with the Oreck. I love this vacuum and would buy it again. Hoover does make a good product. I have have owned 2 in the past and they lasted forever. I have to say that it is a little on the loud side (thus the 4 rating) .....but then that's the power of this vacuum and I wish the cord was a bit longer. The attachments are very effective too, and easy to put on/take off and they store ON the vacuum for easy access. Everything I need in one place.

Comment: This vacuum serves the purpose. It actually pulls me across the floor while vacuuming, but I've adjusted to that. Like other have said the hose serves no purpose because its way to short to reach anything. Overall a good buy though.

Summary: Great Vac for the Money But... 2010-03-19
Comment: I own an office cleaning business and it's as good as any vac I've used with one caveat...sand and grit get embedded in the hard plastic wheels and scratch hardwood floors - especially if your woods floors are dark. It becomes like "rolling sandpaper." Bummer, we just installed the floors. GREAT VAC JUST KEEP OFF THE HARDWOOD.

Comment: For the money this thing costs, you can't go wrong. It has some really powerful suction, and the brush motor hasn't yet fried itself after 2 years of use (even though I've accidentally wound up some string, cords, etc, in it a couple times). I can't say as much for many other vacuums I've owned.
In a somewhat unrelated matter, isn't "vacuum" a strange word? I can never spell it properly on the first try. Two Us in a row; weird.
