Comment: I replaced my i860 which I thought was the best and this prints the same quality but even faster. I am all about this printer!

Summary: Wonderful Printer! 2008-07-12
Comment: I bought this printer for Mother's Day. It has worked very well and I am very pleased with it. The printer is very big and that ended up being a consideration in where I placed it. It was easy to set up and very easy to use.

Summary: A big improvement in every way over my HP 2008-07-11
Comment: Forgetting that this is an all in one unit and simply judging it for it's printing capabilities it away my old HP photo printer. I was really not in the market for an all in one unit since I already had a scanner, but having it all in one unit is convenient. In terms of printing alone the speed and quality is amazing. My old HP never seemed to print the photos looking like they did on the screen no matter how I tried to calibrate the monitor to match the printer output. I used to have to extremely lighten up the picture with image software by trial and error. The Canon gets it almost exact and I haven't changed a setting. I love the idea separate ink tanks. I used to hate buying a tricolor HP cartridge just because one color ran out. I ended up buying a refill kit but that didn't work or hold up. I understand that the Canon has limits to refilling without disabling tank level indictors but I don't I will bother. The Canon inks seem to be pretty good in terms or results and how well they hold up over time. My only complaint and I really don't mind is that it is a bit squeaky when initializing or after printer. I actually exchanged the first one I got just to make sure it wasn't defective. The second one is better but still a bit noisy. I have also checked with others claim they have similar noise issues. The bottom line is that I would still buy this printer if I had to do it all over again. I paid [...] at Circuit City and there was a [...] dollar rebate on it at the time. I don't care about the fact that it doesn't fax since I generally fax things from work. Nowadays most faxable items can just be scanned into an email and If I really had to fax something from home I could just connect the PC's modem which I have never used. I would like it even more if it had wireless network capabilities, but I couldn't find a wireless model from Canon that would have satisfied my printing needs without going to near double the price. There were other brands that had cheap wireless available but not with the same features and or an ink system I was willing to accept.
Anyway... fabulous printer at a great price... enough said!

Summary: Great printer 2008-07-08
Comment: I'm really happy with this printer. All the features are easy to use. Photos on the Canon glossy photo paper came out great, just like prints from a shop. I also really like using the duplex printing feature, its fool proof. Highly recommended!
