Comment: This sharpener works well, I have sharpened many pencils and it works great every time. My kids can even work it well. The battery life is long in this as well.

Comment: I bought this for sharpening colored pencils for my artwork. It is of much better quality than most of the other battery operated sharpeners I've seen. It consistently produces a smooth, very sharp point without breaking off the pencil or chewing it up. It has plenty of power to do the job, despite being battery operated.

Summary: Sharp and quiet 2008-06-09
Comment: I've been using Panasonic pencil sharpener more than ten years. It is somewhat delicate so I had to replace it time to time but still I wouldn't mind to give five stars for this one. I wasted so many pencils when I tried other HEAVY DUTY sharpeners. They just eat up pencils. Panasonic sharpener does excellent job for sharpening without loud noise.

Comment: You'll be the most popular person in your art class with this sharpener. By the end of the semester, most of the class would have me sharpen their prisma-color pencils, since they are delicate and this does an amazing job of not breaking the "lead". It does not have a blade like cheap sharpeners, it grinds and shaves it down like the old fashion hand-crank ones from elementary school. It's a bit noisy, but never found it to be a problem in class.
This thing looks nice too, I am always a fan of Panasonic products, great design.
Highly recommended!!!
